Problems with sponsors?
07 October, 2018 15:55
Just saw this snippet in the weekend paper:

"The Indian owners of the Stanlow oil refinery in Ellesmere Port have been ordered to pay £313m in unpaid debts to a US hedge fund, paving the way for a potential sale. Essar (who are one of the club sponsors) which owns the Cheshire site, has lost a High Court battle with Midtown Acquisitions, which is seeking a forced sale of Stanlow to recoup the money it lent"

Fingers crossed the SWA aka 12th man doesn't have to relocate from the Kop...

Why would they have to relocate? Essar are nothing other than bonus money. Yes they have their name on the stand but they dont own it. They dont pay, their name comes off. Presumably we have had some or even all of whatever money was agreed. If they are due to pay more and do not, we find someone else. No panic

Not surprised I drove tankers out of the shell for years, well run, most things top notch but a lot has changed all the Lubeoil site gone ,I used to test drive the cars at the lab testing Oils for engines ,all gone shell chemicals site all gone .if it was not for petrol it would be closed no other terminals for miles so has to stay open but who knows ,but Uptonrover is right they pay to have name on stand and that’s it no pay no name on the stand ,but saying that if you look at our sponsors it’s becoming alarmingly sparse
