So who went yesterday? What did you think?

There were certainly some good performances but we are clearly lacking a cutting edge up front! It is essential still to get someone in to replace Cookie and I am sure MM is aware of that. I hope we are not going to sell say Norburn or another to fund a decent striker but I fear that may be the case.

Smith looks a good acquisition, Tollitt is not there yet but is improving and Ellis looks solid. Who will play in central defence as we certainly have enough good players in whom to have confidence! Wharton looked confident in goal and certainly knows how to kick a ball.

Bakayoko looked good and could replace Rides but I have concerns about his fitness. We didn't see enough of the new signing from Sheffield Utd. Liked the look of Tonga who has real pace and good control. No doubt we will release him!!! I would like to see him play a full match on Tuesday!

give it time. we lacked a cutting edge even with Cook in most of the games at the start of last season (even though some people believe he wasn't being selected, probably because he wasn't performing well).

and it is still early 'friendly' days with team changing throughout the games, no settled eleven.

Moving forward from that, I'd be happy if we:

Sign a big man centre forward who can hold the ball up aka a Cook replacement.

Sign Zoom for LB position.

Sign Tonga. Looks a catch.

With L2 rules, are we able to still go out to sign a goalkeeper on loan if Scotty gets injured. Pilling and the other young lad don't fill me with confidence to stand in until Christmas.
