Still not signed by anyone.

I know hes 37, but hes a goal scorer.

Wonder if Micky has the audacity to give him a bell and ask him if he wants a season here?

Doesnt need the big money as hes brewstered but imagine him in your squad in L2?

If you dont ask lol

always loved his answer to that question ~ What would you be if you weren't a premiership footballer? A virgin....

i remember reading a match report quite a few years ago and it was a game in which crouch was playing in...During the game, Crouch attempted a bicycle/scissor kick but he got into a right muddle as he was trying it with his long arms and dangly lanky legs all over the place in mid air, the reporter described it as if ' someone had thrown a swiss army knife into the air.' lol

Unfortunately we don’t have funds to compete with his wages

We can’t afford enough to keep his Mrs in the manner to which she is accustomed I don’t think she does Primark

Maybe she does C & A if you tell her it stands for Crouch & Affluence. Yes darling it's where some but not all affluent people shop to look good.

Tranmere couldn't compete for his wages, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind £1,500 a week or whatever the club could afford, just tell him to call his old mate Waring for a few bits of advice about the club.

Besides he knows Merseyside pretty well and could be worth a cheeky phone call, even if it is a 1% likelihood he'd even hear MickY Mellon out face to face.

You never know he might not be too fussy where his next kick around comes from.

Then I ate his Liver.......... with some baked beans and a can of coke.

I agree why not ask the question at the same time Gareth Bale is looking out of Real, he's got a few quid dotted around I'm sure we could get him along on a pre contract offer of a couple of mars bars and a pound for his Lidl trolley.

Well although most of those things wouldn't be likely to happen, at least the one thing out of that lot is he'd probably already have a quid for the trolley (Sm7).

Unless he's gotten so up himself now he never carries cash of any kind and realised he couldn't use one by inserting a credit card.

Hey mate if I tap my credit card on one of the wheels, could I pay to use this trolley with contactless?

Err no Gareth; you have to go old school and insert a quid.

Oh poop.

Bale is still at the top of his game, whereas Peter Crouch is now a 37 year old free agent and will most likely be thinking of packing in?

If Micky was to contact him, you never know, he could be persuaded to give us a season depending on whether or not he still wanted big money to play?

All pie in the sky, but imagine being able to bring him on in a game at L2 level?

Let's be honest, we were all amazed when John Aldridge came here, although we were a second tier side at the time.

Crouch is deffo an impact player and not the fittest of players, but for the sake of a phone call lol.

The difference with Aldo was that at that time we were paying big doe, top flight money. I personally feel part of the bubble burst for us came when Roy Keane signed that 30k a week contract which at the time was an incredible amount of money, I think PJ baulked at that, up til that point we were in the ball park wage wise for mid table PL stuff, we were paying current internationals like Also, Nevin, O’Brien, 2 or 3 others went on to feature long term in Premiership line ups.

Aldo signed for 10% of Sociadad's pay to do what was right for his unsettled family, so Tranmere were paying decent money, but whether it was quite the lucrative spending pattern you intimated I guess we'll never truly know, but certainly it was spending above what might have been seen as realistic for a club like Tranmere.

Maybe one day in 10 years or so Tranmere could it again and not look a tad reckless.
