I purchased todays Liverpool echo hoping to read a match report on yesterdays 4-0 win v dungfermline - but there is not even a single word about the game- I think that is terrible. I thought the echo covered Merseyside football - the last time I checked- tranmere rovers is on Merseyside. anyone else agree.

Personally don't think our Scottish opponents are that bad! You need to lower your expectations of the local rag; they're that out of touch with Rovers, they'd have Aldridge down for a hat-trick yesterday!

Probably no reporter was willing to travel to SCOTLAND for a friendly while the England game was on....

It's been mentioned on here many times on how poor the Echo reports on Rovers.

More to the point, will Radio Merseyside resume their commentary on our games this coming season now that we're back in the league. Has anybody heard anything?

What did you honestly expect?. It's one of the reasons to boycott the 'Walton Times' IT DOES NOT represent Wirral. Live Poo , Live Poo , Live Poo , and any bad news from 'outlaying areas. Hopefully one day soon another 'social media site' will bring about the demise of that RAG. I simply cannot call it a newspaper anymore. You were quite right to question the lack of ANY report regarding Tranmere, It's usually NIL, or mis worded (unless it mentions an ex Live Poo player or comments etc).

Disgusting this rag. On a day where a Liverpool and Everton player featured in a national Victory, they should have at least had a feature on where Steve Mungall spent his summers with his nan. Sometimes I don't think the local press take us seriously.

Interesting comments from MM in the Echo about the difficulties and frustrations of trying to bring in new players, and slightly surprising that the budget is similar to last season's.

Could it also be a cashflow issue in the sense the money we get from the league possibly doesn't arrive until later? From what I could see online it's just over £900k so I would also expect our budget has to be bigger?

its interesting to see what micky says about some of the league 2 clubs that are spending some serious cash, I would think that is defo Lincoln ( believe they spent a big sum to land Barnet hotshot John Akinde ), Port Vale seem to have a bit of dosh and are bringing many players in and I would think the likes of Notts County have too and maybe Mansfield n MK Dons.

one thing I have noticed so far this summer is that lots of league 1 and 2 clubs are bringing in players on full one season loans. not a massive fan of the loan system myself but would it be worth considering a full season loan for a striker to replace cook???
