What was nice was

The number of people who offered congratulations after the game. Having a drink in Baker Street Wetherspoons a Shots fan said we should have been playing you but you would have beaten us. Good luck next season Aldershot.

Agree. Been caught out a bit by the good wishes from other clubs’ fans. There seems to be a genuine warmth towards Rovers and our return to League 2. Wonder if it will continue when we start to beat everyone next season? smiling smiley

A Maidenhead United fan had come up on his own to come the game after having a good laugh with our fans at their gaff.

Walking up Wembley Way we met two Brighton fans who were supporting Rovers for the day. Said they had enjoyed watching us in the past in the glory days. In the queue to go in, two Peterborough fans, think they were ground hoppers. Bit of banter about the FA Cup. Apart from that I think there is much general goodwill for us in the wider football community because of what we achieved in the past and how we survive next to two football giants.

Happened to us on Wembley Way - a Barnet fan stopped us and was really hoping we would go up - 'Proper team' he said. Also been reading other league 2 team forums and every one seems to be happy we got up mostly because we are a 'real football league team' with good fans. Can't help but think the performance on Saturday by 10 men and that spine tingling noise we made at 60 minutes (watched that bit several times now and the noise is incredible - was even picked up by the commentators and in the press conference after) has endeared us to many other teams.

unfortunately 50 bluenoses on wirral don't like us probably since we humiliated them3.0. All the proper scouse blues I have met thru business want us to do well.and can't understand why these wirral blues don't back us

To be fair, I think some of the goodwill towards us was because Boreham Wood don't inspire much affection amongst fans of other clubs. Seen by some as a bit of a fake club with money whereas we're a traditional 'proper' club with decent support who've never really upset anyone over the years - apart from the bluenoses, but that's their problem!

something happened around that time didnt it.

everyone seemed to get totally swept up in the moment.

maybe sensed the players had put everything in and needed us, partly that we were still in the game and realising we could actually do it.

dont know what it must have seemed like from the boreham end.

it wasnt singing more like a mental, primal, roar that spontaneously swept around our end of the ground. if they didnt know better it would have sounded like much like it does when a team who needs a result elsewhere hears that a goal has gone in their favour and the news spreads. it was that sort of magic. dont think i've experienced that before.

Nothing really triggered it - it was a tired ball by a BW player that Scotty fell on - i think at that point we all realised 'hey maybe we could actually do this' - BW looked devoid of any ideas and i think as a team and fans we sensed that. Also makes Garrards comments post match that the BW were out-singing us look stupid!

It was more a matter of revising that after 15 minutes of the half that were making no impact on us and that if the team could keep going they could win.A pivotal time of mass belief and for once the faith was justified

Have seen images of Sir Trevor Brooking and Mike Dean celebrating as we lifted the trophy also, there were quite a few famous faces around Wembley last Saturday.

Quite a few Halifax fans in block 251 making their annual trip very happy to see us promoted as was a solitary Wealdstone fan who was really good company and very complimentary when we won. To the 4 unknown idiots sat in front of us who cheered when Rides got sent off - Hope you enjoyed your day out, we certainly did, best ever day out watching The Super White Army.

Didn’t MM wip up the crowd at some point, asking for more noise. Maybe that was at the 60 minutes mark.
