Wrexham Chester today
11 March, 2018 09:13
It's been a bit of a slide for Wrexham. From title contenders to being under real pressure from fylde to maintain their play-off status.

It's probably the kind of game Chester need to keep their hopes alive. A local derby where league position is not quite as relevant.

Could be a good game

If their allocation is 1800 they probably will sell the majority of them.

The rivalry is as intense as ours, maybe even more so, as they are closer?

I know Chester's average gate has dropped but, as previously stated, first non "bubble" game in years.

Staying on the fence and going for yet another draw.

I will be watching, Wrexham seem to be the draw specialists at the moment but reckon they will beat a poor Chester side today.

I used to think Dean Keates had his head screwed on properly until the interview he has just given on BT Sport.

‘Why have you not been able to turn some of your draws into wins, Dean’

DK ‘it’s been decisions really. Against Tranmere Cook fouled our goalie before the corner they scored from’ (he had already mentioned an offside goal against Halifax).

How about the dodgy penalty you got to go 2-1 up you complete idiot.

I absolutely hate managers who only see decisions against them and are not prepared to accept when they get the benefit.

I hope Chester batter them.

I don't think wrexham have looked particularly good either in that first half, although they seem to be fairly strong coming down the right hand side. MOM so far has been the ref, he has let the game flow. think chester will be the happier side at the break.

wrexham deserving of their 2-0 lead, they've improved in the second half. this young chester side look as if they could be doomed and they have an incredibly tough run in of games. they don't look experienced enough to survive the drop.

Chester got a draw while we couldn't score for neither love nor money. Throw in the fact they had 10 men behind the ball then that's how. I'd wager if that game was played today again that we'd put 4 or more past them.

Wrexham can beat these 4-0 but i'm still not overly impressed with them. You win play-offs and leagues by scoring goals, which is what they've found difficult all season. Their defence is good but so was our last season and it only takes one game for it to all fall apart at the back!

chester battled n tried which u expect in a derby game but wrexham were better in the 2nd half and deserved it, not madly impressed by wrexham though but they have the meanest defence in the league. chester are going down, bet my house on it.

Yes ,I think your right HKR ,Chester look doomed sad to see it .the trouble they are in it looks like there is no way out ,did someone mention £200 a week wages at Chester ? .there was no one in the Chester side you could say was really promising ..they worked hard and give it a go ,but no leaders in the side

Yes, I was really surprised maximum 600 sold.

Honestly thought despite their position, off field problems and reduced attendances they would have sold more for this match.

DK no class whatsoever, we all question certain decisions but, that's his answer all the time.

Some one else is to blame, not the fact that his team are mediocre at best and rely almost totally on the defence. No wonder they have so many draws it's like watching paint dry.

Considering our very poor start to the season, we are currently, one point better off and have a better goal difference.

At one point (after their 1.0 win at PP), were they not something like 8 or 9 points better off than ourselves.

Hello jack, when u mention DK in your opening sentence, are u talking about the wrexham manager, the wrexham idiot that frequents our forum far too often or both of them?

Whilst you're happy clappy about beating a team destined for foreclosure again, here's a real team doing the business away from home.

I love the way the country folk say Tranmere isn't their biggest game and yet it's their biggest attendance. Both deluded little clubs. 👍
