Should get a few more back through the Turnstiles. Especially kids, £50 over 12 months? They could find that down the sofa after Dads night out down the Pub 😄😄😄

And if they send them in the post now, they may get here for the start of the season! (Sm100)

Not necessarily, it might be a ploy to get a few more bob in in case we need one final signing for a title push. But I agree it's always a concern when a club starts bringing forward future income to serve its present needs.

Money in the bank on a regular basis can't be a bad thing surely.

Or maybe they're just thinking of some fans who can't necessarily afford £300+ every year so have joined the majority of the FL and prem teams in allowing installments.

There's always been installment plan's not over 12 months or without interest to the finance company

You have a link to it?

Never normally taken up any installment plan but if it gives me more money to play with then i may look into the option.

Personally think it's a great idea. Will take far less justification with the wife than having to pay in one lump sum (that's not a description of the wife by the way!).

This option is a good move. 0% who can resist. Only question is the timing does smack of desperation. With a quarter of the season still, a bit early unless the do indeed need the money.either way, price held and no interest on 12 months is a good move for the fans.

Everton were advertising on the radio the other day for next season tickets, the deadline for which I think has already passed, and they are not short of money!

But when would the first payment be due? Is it really getting the money in early? It looks good to me, I have the money for longer before it disappears from my account

I said it was a good move for the fans. Surely the club get the full amount straight away from the finance company and then the fans play them in instalments. What's not to like about it.

I don't suppose the early bird discount will apply. That's interest of sorts if it doesn't. We'll find out today.

If you're selling something on interest-free instalments you shouldn't need a finance company to get involved. It would be a concern if the club was paying a finance company just to get the full amount up front.

You can wave £100 around and people think you're flush. Even if you've only borrowed it or if it's an advance on next month's wages. That's the economics of football in a nutshell!

Well Loyden, funny you should say that, but it's now or never to take our chance for automatic promotion. Being back in the football league is always on my mind. I just can't help believin' we can do this. Couldn't face visiting heartbreak hotel or crying in the chapel after another Wembley defeat. Don't be cruel, I don't want to spend anymore time in the ghetto that is the National League. Anyone who doesn't feel the pain must have a wooden heart. I was talking to the girl of my best friend and she said "let's have a little less conversation about this, get out your good luck charm and we can do this, one night, because Tranmere Rovers, that's the wonder of you!"

Nice one Phil,, I don't think we will have any TROUBLE getting promoted and soon we will all be smelling that GREEN GREEN GRASS OF HOME that is the PROMISED LAND of the football league. Won't be long till we are waving goodbye to Wrexham n Chester as we leave them WAY DOWN in the National League.

If it's a card rather than paper vouchers, there's nothing stopping the club moving to a subscription money (i.e., pay a £30 per month direct debit for August to May, and your season ticket card works if you've kept up with payments - if not, you need to buy a new one or get back in credit). That would work like an installment plan, but offer greater flexibility to the user (can be cancelled) and less risk for the club (people won't get into games for free by not paying).

I suspect the installments model has the benefit of cash up front (so we can bring players in), but requires some form of insurance payment needed (as there is no guarantee all the promised money would come in). If it was possible to move to the subscription model without causing a cash-flow issue, it would be a better solution.
