Lincoln have the number one spot because they beat us twice,if we had managed to beat them twice we would have been Champions tonight.
It would take a miracle for Lincoln to get beat in the next three and for us to win the next two.Only not because we can't win the next two but can't see Lincoln failing to win any of the next three. If we'd have beaten Lincoln once this season we'd be top now . Take the 3 points off them for beating us and add the 3 to ours for beating them , we'd be 1 point ahead .
Just have to beat them next season in League Two instead.

Think we can do the Playoffs! lets just rest players now.
We lost the Title as Lincoln beat us twice. So they are worthy winners. Simple as. Stats are near identical.

Thought we made hard work of that today. Had a good spell at the start of the second half, but looked leggy after the second goal/took our foot off the gas.
Pleased for Nors, always works hard for the team and thought he looked in danger of his head dropping a bit. Was some fat hairdo behind me giving him dogs abuse during the warm up, don't understand why you'd come to the match and then slate our own players like they're the opposition, especially within earshot, no need, the clue is in the word supporter. I'd sooner he'd stayed in the pound bakery and let some one else have the ticket that backs the team.
Ah well, another three points, pretty close to guaranteeing second place now. Was worth the trip for the pure comedy of the Guiseley ultras.

To be quite honest,we played very well for the first half of the second half after a quite dreadful first half and then unaccountably sat back for the latter part of the second half allowing Guiseley who looked down and out after Cook's goal,to get back into the game.
To be fair to Guiseley, they played to their strengths in the first half and did well-a big strong long ball team with Rankine[taller and wider than McNulty]causing a few problems.Their goal was a cracking long distance strike but we allowed their player far too much space before he shot.
One funny moment after about half an hour was when the ref called''come here big man''and both Rankine and McNulty went up to him for a talking to. After this had finished and they moved back into position, one wag behind me said quite loudly ''two top class athletes!''
It is hard to say who were our best players. The back three did well. Vaughan was the outlet for quite a few of our attacks in the first hour but faded after that. I thought Wallace was the better of our two central midfielders although they were both slow. It was good to see Norwood and Cook together again and both scoring-Cole came on for the last quarter of an hour-was ok but no more.I was a bit disappointed with Dunn when he came on for Connor-he stayed in the middle rather than on the wing and didn't involve himself enough for my liking. But it was his first game for a long time[just like Maynard on Tuesday-where was he today?]-so we can't be too critical.
Scott Davies' handling was very good throughout and I don't think he even saw their goal as the lad hit it so well.Ridehalgh found plenty of space on the left-his crossing was a bit hit and miss.
But a good three points-I hope Guiseley as well as Solihull stay up-they play each other last match of the season.

Pretty much spot on there Hoots, although I wasn't sharing your sentiments pre-match about them staying up after they wouldn't let the drummers in (miserable bar stewards)! The ale must be strong in Guiseley as there seemed to be more than the usual classy, inebriated individuals in the away end(perhaps I'm just a miserable bar steward). My son's day was made when he got a high five from Cook after his goal (I'll have nothing said against the man now!). I think we need to bear in mind that Guiseley are fighting for their lives which may have contributed to it not being a classic.

I agree. Hughes was poor again yesterday, including one appalling cross immediately prior to Iky's slide-rule cross for Cook's goal. Maynard was not much better against Aldershot.
Mitch and Connor for me - Mitch can also defend.

If Brabin had' ever been sacked before the start of the season we would have walked the League. The play-offs are a lottery but at least we have made them. As it stands we will be playing Aldershot, a team I don't want to play.
I would now use the next two games to get everybody firing ready for the three matches to come (hopefully).

We will probably finish with over 90 points
That's certainly good progress since last season
As regards Wallace I only listened to wirral radio today but as far as I could gather he had a decent second half which was surprising as with lack of match fitness I thought he would fade after a " mediocre " first half ... that's being polite
As for the play offs I remember being really upset after the Swindon home game in 1993
We played well and won 3-2 but as the above post said the damage was done in the away leg
I was also upset in 2005 after recovering a 2 goal deficit against Hartlepool
My fear with (I'm sure you would all agree) good reason, is a penalty shoot out .....

Agree about Maynards last game but the difference is that we know that once match sharp he has a presence in midfield that cannot be matched by either Hughes or Wallace.Ofcourse it means being match fit and that is why I would have preferred Maynard to have had time on the pitch. There is the distinct danger that lack of opportunity to get sharp will result in two static midfielders who win few 50/50 balls being the only options. There was a time when Hughes was valued for his passing but that has been far from impressive in recent months.
It could be argued that each are experienced but Wallace has relatively few career games under his belt
