Walsall 1-0 up if it stays like that gap down to three points.

If Scunthorpe equalise against them the gap is two points if my calculations are correct so surely that's worse?

It`s a bit like being between a rock and a hard place if Scunthorpe pull one back true down to two between us and them but Scunny will still have a game in hand on us but at least their would be five points between us and Walsall so the best for us is perhaps a draw between Scunthorpe and Walsall rather than a Walsall win.

Did not go that way 1-0 win to Walsall that makes the gap down to three with Scunny in the bottom four and Walsall now out of that bottom four and Scunthorpe have that game in hand on us
we need wins and fast carry on as we are doing with the odd draw here and there and no wins under our belt we will get dragged into the bottom four.

Rovers being drawn slowly into the relegation dogfight! Three points off the bottom four and with NO wins in NINE league games makes for grim reading! A WIN is desperately needed at Oldham to take some pressure off both players and supporters! Which ever way you look at it, it doesn't look good. If Les wasn't feeling any pressure he must be now!

To be sucked into a relegation battle from where we were is an inidicator of how truly awful this run has been.

It also tells us the manager does not seem to know how to get out of it, be that with changing the style, approach or personnel. I would actually rather be in the positions we were in the last couple of seasons, showing form and momentum in the final months, rather than dropping like a stone.

Extremely worrying this, every team below will be saying how much Tranmere have dropped. I saw a mock up league table the other day which was drawn up from results since our win at Hartlepool. We are bottom by a country mile.

A defeat on Saturday will do us no good and we could be sucked into the bottom four;

P...........Pts
Yeovil 32..........36
Exeter 33..........36
Walsall 32..........34
Scunth` 31..........34
Tranmere32..........34
Rochdale32..........31
Chest`fd32..........30
Wycombe 33..........29

Above worst case we lose rest pull of wins pushes us into bottom four.

P............Pts
Tranmere 32...........34
Yeovil 32...........34
Exeter 33...........34
Walsall 32...........32
Scunth` 31...........32
Rochdale 32...........29
Chest`fd 32...........28
Wycombe 33...........27

Above we lose rest pull off draws we stay out of bottom four

It`s all about a combination of any results starting on Saturday if only Walsall and Scunthorpe pull off wins and Yeovil and Exeter only get draws that will group us with four teams on 34 pts if we do not win of course if Yeovil and Exeter pull off wins that will have them on 36 pts two ahead of us.
It is getting that tight now in the bottom group that wins
are the only results that we need now starting on Saturday and we are in the position that we a run of results back to back Les stated the other week that he considered we were not in a relegation fight this was when we had a gap of seven points between us and the bottom four this cushion has now gone so when we looked at other results if we lost other teams may have lost as well but over the last week or so when we have pulled off draws these teams have won some thing we have not done this year since are last win on December 30th 2011 and before that October 25th so that reads as we all know 1 win in 18 games so this run of form or lack of it does not inspire for the run in over the next few weeks.
The old maxim of good teams do not lose three on the trot so we have a mountain to climb not only to try and win but the failings we have had all season to try and score a single goal and hang onto the lead and win a game let alone win two or three on the run in fact it`s going to be hard to do that given our lack of fire power and the inability to score more than one goal in years that have long gone if the opposition
score one or two we had the players that could counter that and end up scoring more than they did resulting with us winning games.
But alas the team or the formation or the lack of the right players(or leadership?) were it counts is not there but we now must play on the offensive get those two goals and hang on to the leads the time for playing safe is over our survival in this league depends on what happens over the next few games their is just enough time to pull it round but some thing must happen to trigger the push on wards and upwards.

ifs ,buts ,when ,if only ,means nothing we are in this mess becouse we have a man in charge who is and always has been clueless ,the club have themselfs to blame ,to put him in charge after the first season when we just stayed up on last game of the season was bloody stupid but to keep him for nearly 3 seasonms was inviting relagation ,he is and never will be a manager ,he cant change things he cant get the team to play he has no ideas ,sorry les you will be rememberd as the fool who took us back to the bottom league ,
