Seen Chambers has good mostly decent reviews for performance on Sunday. Did anyone else think he is standing too far back from the player he is marking, and then not in a position to contest the header. Looking at Joelinton's flick header first half and the goal kick that cam all the way through to Leno in extra time. He needs to back himself and attack the ball! No point holding a position just to be a bystander.

I noticed that but I think he is a bit scarred mentally over being exposed for pace when being inexcusably played at right back against some proper pacey wingers (Montero I think his name was for Swansea comes to mind). That proper knocked his confidence for six.

So knowing he has a serious lack of pace he wants to give himself a couple of extra yards. Hopefully he can rectify that as he's only just returned to CB after playing virtually all of last season at DCM for Fulham.

Other than that he had a very good game overall though.

A decent option at CB. Much much better than Mustafi.

Better than Mustafi for sure. But yeah, lack of pace could be why and if so he needs to look at how other slower defenders have managed. He definitely seems to have it in him to adapt his game and then his long apprenticeship with us will have been worthwhile

We can't judge him until he's played against better opposition.

Then, we will know by end of his month.

I hope Emery tries in midfield in place of Xhaka at some point this season. Few years back Wenger tried him there and he was really good. Even he is slow he is still a lot faster than Xhaka who has trouble turning around with the ball.
