We’ve conceded 1 goal in 7 games. No idea how that has happened

I think the key is that we either have Sokratis or Kos playing. The biggest setback we had this season was losing Holding which caused a wobble that took a while to recover

- until Wenger moves on, they'll always be the also-rans in the major competitions. A club in elite purgatory. Always good enough to make it to the big race, never fast or smart enough to push over the finish line in first place. That's all about the manager. Until he changes, Arsenal fans will continue to celebrate glorious failure.

Kos is a big part of it. I thought he's been massive recently since he was back from injury. The amount of vital interceptions he makes in the box is huge.

Sokratis, Kos and Monreal is our best choice back 3.

Simply it took them almost an entire season to play as a team.
Emery found his best D as:

Sokratis-Koscielny-Monreal as Back-3 and with Maitland-Niles and Kolasinac as wingbacks, we play like a defensive 5-3-2.

Plus Emery got Lacazette and Aubameyang putting in a shift by tracking back and pressing ball carriers.

It is most interesting to see whether Monreal will be offered a one year extension as a back-up (like Lichsteiner) with Chambers and Bielik returning.

Mavropanos?
Lacks composure and spatial awareness in his last game after a long injury layoff; and I suspect why he wasn't in the team. He needs a season-long loan to play regularly tor egian his confidence and composure.

Mustafi?
Don't write him off yet.
Once he got rid of his jittery (like Leno early in the season) and understand what Emery and Carcedo wanted form him, Emery can rebuilt his career here.

And the one goal conceded cost us 3 points.

There is no secret here, Emery made it clear here at the start.
He said at the beginning style was not important, which was a fecking relief. So he has taught our players tactics, flexibility, plans A B and C. Yes its been a shock to them but its finally beginning to reap dividends, it took a while but even so Emery has the greatest number of wins in his first 50 games as manager than any manager in Arsenal history.
We might not win anything but we should be far better placed for next season.

Europa League and Top 4 or either one would be good.Still got Chavs and Valencia to beat in EL.(Assuming Chavs get to the final)

D?

Can't you all see that all those tinkering and squad rotation by Emery is squarely responsible for failures we saw at the past week?

A team that beat Napoli and then promptly lost to Palace and Wolves?

Napoli?
We praise Emery for setting up the right team against Ancelotti.

Palace?
Emery underestimated Palace and sent out the "B" Team and got punished by a fired-up Zaha and an astute Hodgson who read Emery likes a book.

Wolves?
Again, he underestimated Santos' counterattacking football with highly skilled and technical Portuguese players who took control of the game and controlled midfield and possession and tore apart Emery midfield and defence like a hot knife going through butter.

All these games have one common denominator/
Emery's tinkering and unable to come to grip with other managers' tactics ... exactly like having a 4-0 lead and bottled it at Nou Camp.

Don't blame the D; just stare at the problem of a bron loser right in front of us.
