Match against Watford - Does Emery ahs the cojones to attack Watford?

Too much tinkering, running scared and too much respect for Everton.
That was what undone us at Everton with Emery scared to play our attacking game and just plain defensive team to hold the fort.

We ere successful at home simply Emery has the confidence to field an attacking side knowing teams were always setup a defensive arrangement to contain Arsenal potent attacks at Emirates only.

Away?
Emery out-thought himself and revert to his dogmatic tactician mode knowing teams at home will attack and Arsenal better get its porous DEFENCE right before thinking about attacks.

Emery must think out of the box against Watford and ambush them with an attacking teams.
We can score, we will leak goals but we can also out-score them to win this game.

Does Emery has the cojones to trust his players to score and maintain midfield discipline.

One bright spot is the excellent Torreira recovering his early season mojo and is our best defence in midfield - anticipating and intercepting passes, effective tackling and a fine reader of the game to breakup plays. One excellent attribute that was overlooked was his tactical awareness to pass quickly instead of holding the ball for too long like most of his team-mates. His peripheral vision is superb and somewhat has the quickness to control the ball instantly and pickup the right pass with the very next move.

Only 3 players have this superb control and passing the ball quickly to setup attack - Ozil, Xhaka and Torreira.

Emery said he will rest players after a high-pace and energy-sapping game against Napoli, playing like 3 games in 3/4 days … like 6 games from 11 April to 28 April.

I expect squad rotation and the question is whether he will risk Xhaka or reserve him for Napoli match?

….. ….. ….. ….. ….. Leno

… AMN … Mustafi … Koscielny … Kolasinac

….. ….. ..... Torreira ….. ..... Xhaka

….. ….. ….. ….. ….. Ozil

….. Aubameyang ... ….. ….. … Iwobi

….. ….. ….. ….. Lacazette

I would rather rest Ramsey and play Xhaka to give him a run out.

Auba, Ozil and Laca needed to play more to develop their understanding and Emery should use this match to iron out all the kinks in their link-up plays.

Watford?
They only know how to play attacking football and will love to attack Arsenal to put us out of joint and really, there is no love lost between Deeney and Arsenal.

And there is where we need Ozil to setup plays as only he can with space opening up with Watford on the attacks.

The lack of any decent midfielders had more to do with it rather than any lack of cojones.
Everton also beat Chelsea

- until Wenger moves on, they'll always be the also-rans in the major competitions. A club in elite purgatory. Always good enough to make it to the big race, never fast or smart enough to push over the finish line in first place. That's all about the manager. Until he changes, Arsenal fans will continue to celebrate glorious failure.

Our players just didn't look up for it against Everton, they lost every 50-50 challenge, lost the ball on our throw-ins and tried those stupid short corners and lost the ball. A totally abysmal performance. Everton could have had 4.

Against Watford, we need to start players who will fight for every ball and put in a shift. So no starting spots for Ozil and Aubameyang. Some Watford players will want to save their legs for the FA Cup final so it is up to our players to up their intensity if they want to come away with a result.

True, but some Arsenal players will want to save legs for Napoli away

***sigh*** so true.
Even against Everton, I suspected that players are saving their legs for Napoli.

I'm looking forward to this match. It's great to have something to play for in the league, even if it is only Top 4. I don't think we have a realistic chance of winning the EL - prove me wrong Arsenal. Top 4 we have a shot at. We should play all out for both only a few matches left now.

If we lose tonight, I will be very deflated!!!
