From Sky:

Getafe defender Djene Dakonam is wanted by Arsenal. Gunners boss Unai Emery travelled to former club Valencia at the weekend to personally scout the 27-year-old, who has a £30m release clause in his contract.

He can also play right back apparently.

We need a strong CD who can play left back as well. Monreal is becoming too injury proned and Kolasinac is a better wing back than left back.

Don't really understand the obsession with players who can play in more than 1 position. The top clubs have 2 specialists in every position

There is no real obsession with versatile players, I don't think clubs buy players because they can play in many positions. Its just what is put across to readers by the media based on scout reports.

All top-level players are specialist in their respective positions, some can deputize in other positions as needed due to injuries/suspension but clubs are not daft.If they come across a good CB that they can afford, I don't think they won't buy him if he can only play CB.

On another note, defenders that can effectively play across the back 4 are generally regarded as better athletes. Players like Sagna, Koscielny (who have played and can play Rcool smiley combine the attributes of CBs - strong, good in the air, good man markers, and the attributes of fullbacks - pacey, good engine to go up and down.
