Koscielny injury for Arsenal U21’s.

As reported by the Mirror, Arsenal have suffered a fresh injury concern after Laurent Koscielny limped out of the Arsenal U21’s 2-1 defeat to Portsmouth in the Checkatrade Trophy last night.

Koscielny hasn’t featured for the first team since rupturing his Achilles during our Europa League semi-final second leg defeat to Atletico Madrid during the closing stages of last season.

The 33-year-old has endured a long road to recovery over the past six months and he’s been gradually working his way back to full fitness with the centre-back making his playing comeback with a 45 minute run out for the U23’s last week.

Unai Emery had hoped to integrate Koscielny back in to his first team plans at some point this month and the defender stepped-up his return with another run-out for the U21’s at Fratton Park on Tuesday night.

However, unfortunately Kos failed to complete the match as he was seen limping off with ten minutes left and replaced by Nathan Tormey as Freddie Ljungberg’s side crashed out of the Checkatrade Trophy thanks to a 2-1 defeat.
