Is Sanllehi and Unai Emery classy enough to extend Welbeck's contract by one year?

We pride ourself as one big family.
It is the right thing to extend Welbeck's contract by one year to allow him to concentrate on rehabitation. like Carzola.

'Most owners take out of the club and Vichai just put in. Without him, we would not have won the Premier League. It was a once-in-a-lifetime thing.' Danny Barry, a Leicester City fan for 64 years.

Agreed. One year extension makes sense. He had always given his all whichever team he has played for. He is a good lad and can play multiple positions and is English

Not talking specifically about Welbeck, but in general, as a fan, you'd want arsenal to keep a player who is going to be injured at the expense of signing someone else because you think it's classy?

There's a balance between doing the right thing for the club and doing the right thing for the player. We kept players like Diaby and Wilshere around for so long that we must have passed up the opportunity to sign other midfielders because we had so much money tied up in their wages. You can still act in a classy way without sacrificing the club's potential. If anything, I would say it's more classy to have an honest conversation with a player who is no longer wanted and help them to find a new club and support them with rehab if they are injured, instead of giving them a contract out of pity or some sense of duty.

So with Welbeck, you have the option of giving him another contract, or letting him go and signing Ousmane Dembele. Which would you prefer?

Obviously bring dembele but that comparison isn't fair cause it's never going to happen. Paying a years wage isn't going to stop us from signing anyone. Esp with players like jenkinson still on the books. Welbeck has scored goals for us and is much better at holding up the ball than Aubameyang.

If welbeck is stopping a better player coming in, by all means. But we smart have players like nketiah, etc who are not going to get in the first team.

Anyway in pretty sure welbeck will be moving on at the end of the season now that he is injured and probably out for the season

You give one player a contract for the wrong reasons and then another and then suddenly you have diaby, rosicky, wilshere, Walcott, ox, gibbs, Ramsey, cazorla all in the squad being unavailable for the majority of every season.

Jenkinson and nketiah are probably on about a tenth of the wages of welbeck. If we spend 50k a week on welbeck and 70k on koscielny then letting them go frees up 120k a week for other players. So not sure what you mean by one player's wages doesn't stop us signing another player. You have a wage budget so spending it one 1 player literally means you aren't spending it on another player.
