Why Emery does not want Wilshere, Ramsey and Fabregas

They are from a begone era where it is a thinking game called Crab Football where you probed patiently and then made the final killer pass which Fabregas executed so well. Pity the other two who do not have Fabregas Football Brain.

fast forward to present where Emery is playing a high tempo pressing game, and counter-press when the ball is lost.

And he needed athletes like Torreira, Kante, De Bruyne, David Silva, Neuves (Wolves), Ericson, Jorginho, Progba, et al.

Pacy, closed control and playmaker with an eye for pass and the ability to drive the team forward.

Just look at Torreira.
He plays a very simple game, won the ball, at the most 2 touches and pass the ball onward and then move into space and make himself open to receive a return pass as another option for the ball carrier.

Xhaka?
No doubt he has no pace but make up with his fine anticipation and interception, and then like a regista, make plays from deep with his accurate passes. shorn of his defensive duties with a trusted Torreira behind him, he came into his own as a central midfielder that controls the tempo and ability to create plays.

Wilshere said he will never change and prefer to take on 2 or 3 players at one go., resulting slowing down play and invite hacking and hard tackling to his legs. being world-class as a youth is one thing, but to be world-class in a man's game, who are faster and tougher? Wilshere never came to grip in a man's game.

Ramsey?
Still too many touches, slow down the game and just no football brain with all his predictable passes.
His knack for arriving in a goal-scoring position in the box became a liability now.
he simply got in the way of Aubameyang and Lacazette who occupied the same spot. More often than not, latching onto a pass meant for Aubameyang or Lacazette, and then made a mess of it.

Our next generation or Emery Generation?
Guendouzi, Iwobi and Smith-Rowe may be the real thing.

Maitland-Niles? Joe Willock?

Have not seen enough of them but doubt they have the technical ability, closed control of Torreira or Guendouzi.

Reiss Nelson?
Should remain at least one whole season in Germany to improve his closed control, technical ability and widen his horizon in playing Continental Football.
A better comparison is will his rate of improvement be like than of Raheem Sterling after one whole season until Guardiola's tutelage.
If Reiss Nelson continues to improve at the rate of Raheem Sterling at Man City, then we have a real jewel on our hand as the natural replacement for Mkhitaryan as right-side midfielder.

During his interview wasn't Emery supposed to have pitched that he was going to build the team around Auba and Ramsey?

Just another Wengerese politician selling snake-oil to Arsenal fans.
You still trust football manager like Emery? I don't.

Haha that's pretty funny.

Emery must have liked Ramsey and thought he can get the best out of him. But seeing him up close long enough, he realised he's not good enough and went all in on Ozil.
