Yeah so we're not as good as the top 3. Thanks. No one expected us to be anywhere near them.

4th is what we should be aiming for this season and that would be a massive achievement compared to where we we've been the last 2 seasons.

We are a team in transition ... and we are improving weekly.

Watch those stats turn around as Emery’s influence grows

frankly my expectations are moderate as we simply can't expect a miracle to happen immediately.

one game at a time for me.

11 goals conceded in our first 6 games
3 goals conceded in the following 7 games.

Signs of defensive improvement?

Not really.
Yes I agree we have conceded less goals.
But we could/should have conceded a lot more.
We certainly are still very dodgy at the back.

I'm pretty satisfied so far. Emery's doing a very good job but I also believe he inherited a squad which was nowhere near as bad as we claimed it was in May. The whole 'It'll take YEARS to repair the damage Wenger has done' was a bit melodramatic. I think it was reflective of our dislike for him really.

I know from experience that when you really, really, really dislike someone, you think the worst of them, and suppress their strengths and amplify their weaknesses. They have to fit to become the monster you've conjured up. Eventually I took a step back and said, 'You know what, PK isn't that bad, is he?' and the truth is yes, he is, but Wenger isn't.

Still think there will be a few changes in the summer.
We will be getting rid of a few Wenger players.
