Adrien Rabiot or Ander Herrera?

Both of these players are out of contract next summer.

Which one is better to replace Ramsey?

If Emery should sign Rabiot, then it may very well be bye-bye to Xhaka and Elneny.

If Ander Herrara (ManU) is signed, then it is bye-bye to Elneny.

If Sanllehi wanted to emulate Guardiola Barca, then the following youngsters will be key to our future:

1 - AMN and Joe Willock as DCM to replace Elneny and eventually Xhaka.

2 - Smith-Rowe will replace Ramsey.

3 - Reiss Nelson is the winger we are all crying aloud for.

4 - Iwobi is the understudy for No. 10 and even No. 8 as Ramsey's replacement.

5 - Not forgetting Bielik was original signed as DCM and now playing as CB as part of his development.

For the next 3 seasons, we will see Snallehi, Mislintat and Emery will concentrate to rebuild Arsenal with Academy products and buying youngsters.

Sign both as they would improve our squad by replacing some of the dross in centre midfield, Elneny, Xhaka.

Rabiot is the French Busquets. Too good for us, anyway.

Being honest I haven't really seen enough of either of them to be objective. I definitely think we have an issue if we don't replace Ramsey though. He's involved in a lot of goals

Ramsey is on £110,000-a-week.
Aubameyang is on £180,000-a-week.

Then, it is no deal if Ramsey is demanding £200,000-a-week, which is more than Aubameyang.

Like Cashley Cole, what Arsenal should do is offered Ramsey a one-year extension on £180,000-a-week with him given an option to leave in summer 2019 if a new contract cannot be thrashed out with those Adidas money coming in play.

Meantime, Ramsey will strengthen his bargaining power to sign for any club in January 2019 or August 2019 with a base salary at £200,000-a-week and a fixed selling price of £50-million.

If what Ramsey said is true that he is willing to stay, then it is up to him to play for a new contract by outperforming everyone, including Ozil and Mkhitaryan, this season that he is worth in excess of £200,000-a-week.

Not only that, his scintillating perfromances will encourage buyers to offer him maybe £300,000-a-week as a proven marquee player.

All buyers will look at him with a doubt as there is a stigma on him when a top-notch club like Arsenal FC is willing to cut him loose in the summer ... like Jack Wilshere.

Ramsey has more to lose career-wise, no doubt consoled by his last lucrative contract.
He will never be an Arsenal legend talk in the same breathe as Fabregas or Giroud.

"The idea is to be more unpredictable every year and be more difficult for the opponents to stop and nullify what we want to do. That’s what we have now, especially at the back and in the midfield the options we have, to open up the spaces, we have many more options than we had last year.” Mikel Arteta

Rabiot won't come to Arsenal. Herrera would be a stop gap at best.

Lots of media speculation that we are after this guy: [en.wikipedia.org]

why on earth would we ever want Hererra?

It seems we are talking more of the CM position, me thinks. Because some of the youth names suggested in there are more creative players like Rowe and Reiss Nelson so I am not gonna include them in this discussion.

In the middle, Milinkovic Savic would do nicely. Savic had like 14 goals for Lazio in Serie A which is no small feat. Adding a goal threat from midfield could be nicely. If not, a player that I had wanted us to sign years ago - Saul Niguez. Box to box midfielder with great technique and power. Can play DM when needed.

Hey, this is a wish list thread ain't it?

AMN deserves a chance in the middle too. Add to it with Torreira and Xhaka, and Guendozi, i think we are good.

But why the hate against Elneny? Of course we can do better than Mo, but Mo is a squad player. We should keep Mo as our 2018 version of Grimandi. He might be limited, but he gives his all and never complains about lack of playing time. A good squad player to have, just like Giles was. Never spectacular but useful indeed, especially with that engine. Play him whenever we need to rest midfielders especially in easy European games in some far flung ice cold venue in Russia or as substitute in games we have already won, like when we are 5-1 up in the 75th minute or in meaningless group games.

Elneny is a stop-gap measure but someone have to leave to vacant a spot in the 25-man squad next season when AMN turns 21 year old and a few new buys.
