Match against Cardiff - time to go 3-5-2 with cavalier FB

Our FB spent more time attacking WHU than defending, as if following the mantra of "we will score more goals to beat you".

Bellerin does not have the engine to go box-to-box and it is noticeably that after a hundred yard dash to opponent box, he can only jog back and slow to recover. Every manager and his dog knew it and plan to counter-attack an unbalanced Arsenal at right-flank with Bellerin nowhere in sight.

Compound this problem with both Xhaka and Guendouzi not providing cover at right flank with both of them caught up high on the pitch too.

The solution is to go 3-5-2 with Lichsteiner functioning as the 3rd CB cum RB.
This will effectively block the right flank autobahn so evident after 3 no. league games.

Monreal is effectively a left wingback and will provide effective cover for either Iwobi or Ozil at right flank; not forgetting that we need Torreira to play to anchor the base of the midfield during attack and in position to stop counter-attacks which we are so vulnerable during the past 3 league games.

Cardiff away is the right team to test the 3-5-2 against them our attacking and high tempo passing game with a solid Double-Pivot to protect the back-line and to command and control midfield.

...................................Cech

.........Lichsteiner .......Sokratis............Monreal

.................Torreira...................Xhaka
...Bellerin...............Mkhitaryan..................Iwobi

.........................................Aubameyang
.......................Lacazette

defensively, Iwobi is better on the left to support Monreal rather than Ozil.
Mkhitaryan is a better No. 10 than Ozil with his Dortmund root in playing high-pressing game.

Torreira and Xhaka should focus on protection Backline with Xhaka should come into as own as a deep-sitting playmaker to focus on his accurate passing game with Torreira sitting back protecting the midfield.

Aubameyang should help out at left flank with Lacazette playing to his strength in the box.

Until Ozil got his head screwed right, Mkhi should remain as the No. 10.
SOkratis, Mkhi and Aubameyang knew each other preferences and playing style from their days at Dortmund and should form the spine of this new team.

Unai Emery should be bold and drop Ramsey and Ozil who are still struggling to come to grip with his high-tempo and high pressing game.

'In the end the most satisfying solution is the one where you have cleared everything away and there is no solution at all any more, at the same time, the problem has been solved. That's the nicest way of doing it.'

Good thought and your observation about Bellerin is spot on. Another solution is to go to a variation of the 4-4-2.

Bellerin seems more interested in attacking than defending recently. Lichsteiner is a proper defender and with Bellerin's penchant (and I must admit effectiveness) in going forward, where a lot of our recent goals have come from recently, perhaps we should leave Bellerin there.

A 4-4-2 with Stephan at RB, and Bellerin at RM to attack at will with his pace will pin Cardiff's fullbacks back. Move Mkhi to AM with Torreira as the pure DM in front of back 4 and this will give us the chance to play both Auba and Lacazette in a competitive game.

Iwobi should play left midfield. On current form and "issues", no space for Ramsey and Ozil (for this match)

He will play the same team though. That's the problem. He's not going to try two strikers for the first time away from home either.

I fully expect Xhaka to start and Ozil if he's recovered. Bellerin will play again as well.

Sen nothing from mthsi manager to suggest he's ever going to be cavalier
