Ainsley Maitaland-Niles will be out for between six to eight weeks after fracturing his left fibula, Arsenal have confirmed.

The 20-year-old started at left-back in Unai Emery's first Premier League game in charge, but was substituted with an injury just 35 minutes in to the 2-0 home defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

Fellow defenders Laurent Koscielny, Carl Jenkinson and Sead Kolasinac all remain long-term absentees for Arsenal with injuries.

Wonder if our injury estimates are going to get any better now Wenger has gone ad we have new medical staff.

Shame for the lad though.

Apparently the latest update from the club suggests that Maitland-Niles has suffered a setback in his recovery as the medical department now claim he’s aiming to return to training in November

This is unbelievable. There is something wrong with this club.

We don't have anybody with 20 goals in the league, so that is a handicap - Arsene Wenger
