Both Xhaka and Mustafi signed 5 year contracts in summer 2016. Xhaka's has been extended to 2023, so far no extension for Mustafi. You would imagine if we want to recoup some of the £36m we wasted spent on him we need to do it this summer.

No contract for Jack though

Anyone who isn't being sold this summer and is under 30 should be given a new contract. Part of the problem with Arsenal over the past few years is that we've let players run down their contracts till they have 1 year left and then we've had to sell them for reduced prices.

Xhaka is probably my least favourite player in the Arsenal squad right now, so I was hoping we'd sell him this summer but if we aren't, then it makes good business sense to put him on a long term contract so that we can get more for him when we do want to sell him - hopefully in January or next summer.

Mistake. This guy is just a bad fit for the Premier League. He is simply too slow and not good position-ally enough to make up for that.
