Ozil ills again - was there a promise to sell him this summer?

Remind me of Cashley Cole's last season with us.

He can leave on a Bosman but I believe out of loyalty to Arsenal FC, an agreement was reached that when he signed a one-year contract extension, Arsenal FC will match Chelski offer of 70,000pw and will let him leave to a club of his choice in the summer.

Wonder was that the same case for Ozil.
Paid him what he demanded with a promsie that he cna leave in the summer to a club of his choice?

Surely they got more than a year extension for £350k a week?

- until Wenger moves on, they'll always be the also-rans in the major competitions. A club in elite purgatory. Always good enough to make it to the big race, never fast or smart enough to push over the finish line in first place. That's all about the manager. Until he changes, Arsenal fans will continue to celebrate glorious failure.

It'll be very difficult to sell him on that wage

Border on impossible, and he is probably a luxury the club cannot afford. What is better an erratic genius or two or three hard working players prepared to fight for the club

his body language is pretty terrible but he's still our most talented and creative player.

If we had some proper defenders and a strong midfield and most importantly, some leadership on the pitch, we wouldn't be so concerned that he isn't a "fighter".

Henry and Pires never used to try and win headers, and they used to pull out of every 50:50 but no one cared because we had Vieira, Gilberto, Campbell, Toure, Keown etc to win the physical battle so they could do their thing. If you have a strong core, then it's a good thing to have 1 or 2 luxury players who's job it is to come up with something different, something surprising every now and then that gets you a goal.

A team of 11 James Milner's would be very solid and work hard and everything, but that team would be consistently average.

Since our lack of leadership on the pitch has been blatantly obvious to everyone for about 10 years, I am expecting this to be the first thing the new management team addresses. Then we might see the best of our creative players like Ozil.

I just hope we get a manger who can either get the best out of him or that will have the balls to bench him for poor performances. Or both.

Plenty of better players out there. Gimme Mahrez over him any day.

Good post. He didn't smuggled himself into a world cup parade bus ffs. He needs good environment. Iwobis and Chamberlains are much more luxury to have than Ozil. Change the rest of the dross.

Ozil is best played with quality players, if the club does not want to spend on those kind of players then cull some of the dross and buy players who have a work ethic.
Thats what I mean by a luxury as the club claims it cannot afford more than 50 million next year

aris Saint-Germain have emerged has favourites with bookmakers Ladbrokes to sign Arsenal star Mesut Ozil this summer.
The German international - once the Gunners' record signing when he arrived from La Liga giants Real Madrid almost five years ago - hasn't featured for the club since sustaining a back injury during the Europa League semi-final second leg defeat against Atletico Madrid earlier in the month.

However, it might just turn out that Ozil has already played his last game for the north London outfit.
Even though it is just three months removed from when the 29-year-old put pen-to-paper on a new deal with the Gunners, Ladbrokes believe there's a good chance that the playmaker will move on in the summer transfer window.

Guess it is the best for all parties concerned.

Ozil's actions for the past 2 months did him no credit.
His behavior is like a player who knew that he will move on in the summer.

Agree, this could have been a great news but don’t see this happening.
