Half time and Atletico are winning 1-0, 2-1 on the night.

We certainly had some really good opportunities in that half but our final ball hasn't been good enough. Gradually we became more and more open and invited Atletico into the game, and, of course Diego Costa scored, right on the stroke of half time.

Going to highlight two players:

First, David Ospina, who looks a nervous wreck. He's had two moments where he and one of our players have gone for the same ball, and one of his poor clearances led to a 5 minute spell of Atletico pressure.

Second, Hector Bellerin, and not just because of the goal. He's been giving the ball away too often and, as per, his crossing/ final ball has been shocking. On top of all of that, he showed absolutely no awareness as he was caught the wrong side of Costa and wasn't fast or strong enough to prevent him from scoring. Shocking stuff.

Bellerin has all this supposed speed , but never uses it to drive at the goal.As soon as he gets near the opposition goal he stops and passes the ball backwards .It's as if he has never crossed a ball i his life.

Defensively why was he so far up the field maybe someone needs to inform him we are not playing a back three.

Let's stop trying to force the ball through the middle that is congested.

That is more to do with Athletico style of play they don't win games by 3's and 4's , and let's not ignore that in the first leg athletico played 80 minutes with ten men.

For the life of me I don't understand that logic. Either the team is probably nowhere near as bad as you make out, or Wenger has over-achieved with the shite he has bought. You decide because it's one or the other. I'll give you a clue - it isn't the one about overachieving.

Until last week only two teams had scored more goals than Arsenal this season. What does that tell you? It tells me that we probably shouldn't blame Wenger if his successor and the recruitment personnel fail to improve Arsenal because there is enough there to build on.

It's a lazy and nonsensical narrative to start peddling even before he's gone. Whatever happens next season - success or failure - Wenger won't have a f*cking thing to do with it.

It won't be his glory if Xhaka scores the goal which wins us the league and it won't be his failure if Mustafi scores the own goal which relegates us.

It won't be his glory if Xhaka scores the goal which wins us the league and it won't be his failure if Mustafi scores the own goal which relegates us.

The best players we have have just walked through the door.

The rest of them are likely to have one good season or one good game. Where are the world class defenders and CM's that dominates games like these.

You are both taking about different things. What you are saying is where are the CMs that dominate such games? We don't have them. Shane is saying we don't have @#$%& players. Even i weeks day that we are comfortably 6th placed. This squad is better than evertons or the rest. Arsene has grossly under achieved in the last 3 seasons.
A decent manager will get the same squad conpeting for top 4.

We are not going to win the league, if thsts what you are asking karsene, but that doesn't mean all the players are shiy and relegation standard.

Most of these players like bellerin actually played much much better a couple of years back, and the reason for the decline is unknown /is arsene.

If the new manager has everyone in current squad playing to their potential, we would only be complaining about xhaka, ospina/cech and welbeck cause with this players it is their luck of ability that's a pbm.

All the others are playing way below their best the entire season.

We need bodies in defense cause we lost mertesacker and gabriel and we never replaced them.

Kos has been carrying that achilies for a while.

Address the defense and even with this so called @#$%& midfield, a different manager with different tactics can compete for top 4 and possibly get in.

Winning the league is a different matter, that will require us finding players like coutinnho, firminho, mane, salah on the cheap like klopp has and it will take 2-3 years bare min to compete for the league. Klopp and pochhetino still haven't won it, so you know it's not easy with a low budget.

Of course why is the budget low is a different question

We all knew leicester had shite players when they won the league and overachieved but we also understood Kante, Mahrez and Vardy could move on to bigger teams. Kante still has the quality to move to any side. Mahrez could still move to City. Vardy could still move to Man Utd or Chelsea. We have two players in the squad that can do this Laca and Aubameyang who have combined fee of 110Mil. The rest of the squad are lame.

Add ozil to that list if u surround him wit players like kante, if not in ability, then at least intent.

Yes this squad isn't good enough to win the league, but klopp has made a @#$%& defense work with terrific offense.

My point was, ramsey, monreal, kos, mustafi( yes even him), bellerin have played much better before than in the past two years.
They had once streamed our entire training session live and i was shocked at how appalling it was.

Get rid of the first team coaching hierarchy and replace with a modern one and you will see a drastic difference even if it's not s league winning one
