2017 wasn't too bad with at least a resemble of a team.

Then the dynamics changed with the departure of Alexis, Walcott and Giroud.

Gabriel and OX were not replaced.
And Wenger lost his gamble with Mustafi, Chambers and Holding not playing with the same commitment and passion like Gabriel.

Right-side is a horror show with Iwobi a pale shadow of OX and Walcott.

No Plan "B" with an awful Welbeck. Better to persist with Nketiah, who in 5 minutes shown what we were misisng in Welbeck.

SImply that a deluded Wenger committed the cardinal sin of failure to replace the players he sold with better players to rebuild the 2016/17 squad that failed so badly.

As long as Wenger is still aorund, he will watch the budget and enusre that the player transfers are self-sustainable, i.e. sell beofre buying, regardless of the need of the team.
Budget comes first with promoted youth replacing senior playerd who left the club.

No wonder Silent Stan is fully behind Arsene Wenger regardless of the performances on the pitch. That is, as long as commercial businesses are still growing and not hurt by lack of successes on the pitch, Arsene Wenger wil have a job for life ... till Silent Stan finds a buyer willing to spend US$2-billion to buy him out.

As long as Arsenal fans still behave like sheep at Emirates and still travel to away games, Arsene Wenger will continue to have a free ride till 2019 or beyond.

Meaning ... Arsene Wenger is savvy enough to know that this team needed emergency and major surgery and he will wield the scapel in the summer to protect his self-interest and will be ruthless to get rid of the majority of his players just that he can have his 1,000th game with Arsenal FC.

Silent Stan and Arsene Wenger is a match made in heaven with both man getting what they want.
Fans and winning silverwares are irrelevant when TV Boardcasting revenues and commercial businesses continue to grow.
Matchday revenues had peaked and is not relevant as it is more lucrative to sell seats to tourists rather than subsidised fans'season tickets.

'I like the total intensification, where there are crashes and bangs everywhere, pure adrenaline and no one being able to breathe' Jurgen Klopp.

Wenger said: "I can understand the frustration.

“The League Cup situated in the middle of the season is always difficult when you don't win it.

“It brings a lot of negativity. On top of that the game rearranged on Thursday night didn't help us to compete today."

He added: "We had difficulty to get going. We suffered a lot physically. After that mentally as well. We made some defensive mistakes as well. We lack a bit sharpness and freshness physically to make a difference."

"Everybody has the will to win but only the best have the will to prepare to win.”
