Match against Ostermunds - Redemption as flat-track bully?

You know Wenger will play his Reserves, claiming League is his priority and he does not want a backdoor entry into CL Cup.

What a freking dumbfcuk of a hypocritical snake-oil salesman.
In fact, Europa Cup is our best chance to gain a spot in CL Cup.

We have no game this weekend, and why not field a full-strength side to give the team more playing time to gel together, working out all the clinks and glitches in time to face Man City on March 1?

....................................Ospina

............Chambers...........Mustafi........Holding

...Maitland-Niles.......Wilshere...Willock.........Kolasinac

...........Nelson..........Lacazette..........Mkhitaryan

I will start Nelson, Willock and Maitland-Niles to freshen the team and leave out drones like Iwobi and Welbeck.

Mkhi needs more playing time to gain back his match sharpness.

I will not start Iwobi but to give Melson a chance to play to show he will get more playing time. Otherwise, might as well sell him and retain Iwobi.
Certainly, if Nelson is snubbed again, I doubt very much he will stay and follow Chris Willock and McGuane out of Arsenal to have more playing time under a coach that trusted him.

Instead, we have a limited player like Iwobi who can't pass, can't defend and all at sea when being under pressure ahead of Nelson, who like wasn't give a run of game to prove himself.

He will field the strongest team he can.
But with Ospina in goal.

This, and that's how it should be.

Thanks to that clueless, incompetent, decrepit old @#$%& in charge we've got absolutely no chance of qualifying for the Champions League via the league, so we need to focus fully on the Europa League and the League Cup. It is all we have left to play for.

I'd love to see us win this for so many reasons.

I have a sneaky suspicioun that the race for top four isn't over yet though. Other than city this has been a very unpredictable season.

I'd love to share your optimism, but I struggle to bak us against anyone away these days.

Can they be much worse than Forest?

He has to play the strongest team, if not he is a total joke.

We have no game at the weekend and it is our only chance for the Champions League, bar none.

For us to make the top four we would need two teams to totally collapse, which is almost impossible to expect.

And for some reason, Reiss nelson who has done absolutely nothing since he started playing for the first team, is better than Iwobi....you cant make this up.

We have @#$%& kids.

And now, Laca out for 6 weeks, we have the woeful Welbeck as our only fit senior forward (how about Eddie?)

If Wenger said he is going to field his "strongest" team ...

.................................Ospina

...Bellerin......Koscielny...Mustafi........Monreal

.....................Wilshere...Xhaka.........

...........Iwobi............Ozil..........Mkhitaryan

............................Welbeck

And people that is our strongest team with Wenger not risking Ramsey and allowing him more time to recover for the 25 Feb Carabao Cup Final.

Such is the depth of our team.

Ostermunds is well-organized and disciplined.
They will hit us on the counter-attacks.

But with our possession game, denying them the ball all the time, surely we can win easily?
With Ozil and Mkhi creating 10+ goal scoring chances, let's hope the likes of Welbeck and Iwobi can step up and score against minnows.

Kos and Wilshere are left behind as a precautionary measure.
And we are left with:

If Wenger said he is going to field his "strongest" team ...

.................................Ospina

.......Chambers........Mustafi........Monreal

...Bellerin.........Elneny........Xhaka..........Iwobi

.......................Ozil.............Mkhitaryan

.............................Welbeck

I would play 3-4-3, narrowing the game and driving through the centre with short and quick passes to overwhelm the defence, keeping the game tight and preventing Ostermunds from attacking down our flanks.

We are at our best when controlling the game and concentrating all plays in the middle with both Bellerin and Monreal cutting in to pass on the ground instead of delivering those awful and inaccurate crosses that always missed Arsenal players.

Iwobi is a flat-track bully and his closed control and dribbling skills should serve him well in this game.

Now, how many scuffled goals will Welbeck scored?

Merl of you play very narrow, they will be able to attack the flanks, thsts a contradictory statement.

Unless you have a DM like coquelin who can run and cover both flanks

Caz, our crossings are sh*t and with our 70% possession, we are always attacking down the middle to prevent Ostermunds from attacking down our flanks.

By controlling the middle, we are forcing, nay inviting, Ostermunds to attack our flanks and shepherd them down a blind alley.
It is only during the latter stage of game, when we lsot concentration, our shape and complacency crept into our game that Ostermunds was ablce to cut-in from the flanks.
