Soccerex compiled a chart of the top 20 most financially powerful teams in the world.

Arsenal were second, behind only Man City and well ahead of teams such as Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

No more excuses.

The compilation is stupid. Real madrid barca and utd chelsea etc are all way ahead. They are probably just looking at debt, but that debt can be paid out considering their revenues.

Our owner isn't going to pump in his cash unlike his peers so the list is a farce

It factors in debt and all the wealth of the ownership, assets such as buildings and land. I found it an interesting read.

At the end of the day it’s just another thing we as fans can use against silent Stan and his cronies.

Thsts exactly what I'm saying. If silent factor in debt. We don't have debt so we will come out on top. Those clubs have debt but it's manageable and they have far more money to spend than us.

The only way we can compete is if stan starts investing money or we start taking loans

The wealth of the ownership is again not a property of the club. It's at their discretion if they want to use that to infuse money into the club. Our owner is a business man. He sees this as a business so wont be putting in money

Most likely be will take it out as consulting fees to KSE.

We have cash, but once we blow it, we don't have the commercial revenues that the other top clubs have

Cash rich, debt low, property value high, but as said above commercial revenue stream is @#$%& poor.
None the less you have to speculate to accumulate, as that is against Kroenkes vision the decline will now speed up as the squad withers on the vine

- until Wenger moves on, they'll always be the also-rans in the major competitions. A club in elite purgatory. Always good enough to make it to the big race, never fast or smart enough to push over the finish line in first place. That's all about the manager. Until he changes, Arsenal fans will continue to celebrate glorious failure.

I think the emirates and puma deals end next year so hopefully they renegotiate a better deal for us and can regain some ground on that ground.

I don’t know a lot about big business so thanks for helping me understand better.

I think Silent Stan sees spending money on an unknown player is “speculating to accumulate” haha.

How can you negotiate good deals when you haven't won a major trophy for 14 years. Not only that but we not even playing good football anyway and two of our best and most recognised players are going to leave soon?

This is exactly the pbm. I won't even call it speculate to accumulate. The price of the product is decided by demand and supply. It's just common business sense.

At the moment a lot of ppl want to invest in football. There are less players and more money to spend. That's where scouting comes into the picture.

Our scouts and contract negotiators have failed us big time.

I dunno why we always offer deals on the last 2 years of the contract, that's penny pinching again, to not give a pay rise early.
For imp players, you need to do that as soon as the clock ticks to 3 years. For sanchez it should have been the second season, in dec when he was injured and the team were playing well. Out injured he would have had less chips to play on his side. If they did try and be good not agree, that should have been the warning sign and he should have been sold with 2 years to go

Yes to get a good deal you need to have won things, which is why they need to invest in the squad. The squad is not good enough and will be even worse soon, so they will need to speculate to accumulate

I don't think it's right to lay the blame at the feet of scouts and negotiators. There are numerous stories of how many top quality players we nearly signed but then Wenger dithered and failed to act. For example the tale that Merlion posted the other day about how scouts and negotiators had Griezman primed to join Arsenal and then Wenger decided at the last minute to scrimp and save Sanogo from life as a postman instead.

I taking about the ones that we did sign.

How can anybody in their right minds reccomend players like xhaka and gervinho. They lack so many things technical things. Gervinho s entire kicking technique was false.
Wenger is to blame for many things but so are all the others around.

Yes fair enough. Gervinho, Sanogo, Chamakh et al have been terrible signings.

The last ten years have been extremely mediocre in the recruitment arena
