Tin Cup Team against WHU with an eye to Liverpool game - can we score in 90 minutes?

Our scoring record in Tin Cup is awful.

Against Doncaster Rover, we won 1-0 with senior players showboating and trying to wlak into goal all the time.

Agaisnt Norwich, it needed Eddie to come the bench to rescue us.

Now, it is Arsenal Reserves vs WHU Reserves and I believe Moyes will concentrate on premiership survival rather than Cup Glory.

Why risk injuries and fatigue when a hectic Christmas weekend is looming and suffered yet again the traditional WHU failings of "going down faster than X'mas dressings in the New year"?

Arsenal Reserves?
Will they will a hungry bunch knowing that Cup competitions is the best way for them to break into senior teams?
11 Reserves players and youths will play as Wenger is chasing Top-4 spots now.

.....................................Ospina

...Debuchy .... Chambers .... Holding ... Maitland-Niles

.............Nelson...........Willock.......Elneny

...Walcott.....................Giroud...............Welbeck

I will rest Coquelin to form a defensive Xhaka-Coquelin partnership and push Wilshere up to replace a useless Iwobi who will leave gaps in our defence.

...................................................................................

My team against Liverpool?

.....................................Cech

...Bellerin ......Koscielny .... Monreal ..... Kolasinac

......................Coquelin ....... Xhaka

...............................Wilshere

........Lacazette............Giroud............Ozil

You can clearly see the option that Giroud gave us against WHU.
We need Giroud to rough up Liverpool defence and offer a physical presence in the box when Xhaka or Ozil or Wilshere swings in thoes high crosses and lobs.

Drop Alexis.
His mind and heart are no more with Arsenal.
if he is "tired", then it is the right time to drop him and play him after Christmas.

David Moyes has warned that West Ham players are finding it hard to deal with the heavy workload of the congested festive fixture schedule after his side's 3-0 win over Stoke City.

....

"Obviously, there are a few dropping at the moment. Mark Noble has now got an injury, we had [Pablo] Zabaleta with a dead leg from early on in the game, so we are finding ourselves struggling for players.

"Even at the end, Marko Arnautovic had a calf strain so we had to bring him off for Chicharito to go on the right as we ran out of midfield players, even with Declan Rice coming on.

"We're all mucking in, all doing their jobs and they are doing it well and defensively we have kept another clean sheet which is always good at the wrong end of the table."

Moyes will not be chasing Cup glory and will certainly rest his key players and fielding youths.

His Reserves players needed to step into the breach to replace his injured players.

I suspect that Moyes wont want to go for broke as he can get 3 points in his next home game, a tough bottom of the table scrap. True our stiffs would struggle against a full strength West Ham side, but not sure thats what they will get.
Probbaly a very boring night ahead

- until Wenger moves on, they'll always be the also-rans in the major competitions. A club in elite purgatory. Always good enough to make it to the big race, never fast or smart enough to push over the finish line in first place. That's all about the manager. Until he changes, Arsenal fans will continue to celebrate glorious failure.

Jeff Reine-Adelaide? Chuba Akpom?

When will they get a chance to play?
Against Forest in FA Cup?

But if Kolasinac is fit to play, then ...

.....................................Ospina

...Debuchy .... ..........Chambers .... Holding

Nelson...........Coquelin.........Elneny........Kolasinac

...Walcott.....................Giroud...............Welbeck

And we have a strong Reserves team playing!

I believe this is the very first season since 1996/97 that Wenger is able to field two different teams without wearing out the Starting 11.

No disrespect to WH, but our reserves are way stronger than WH reserves. If they can't beat WH second team, then they all deserved to be sold off. My only worry is the lack of creativity in the middle.

Elneny and Coquelin offers nothing going forward. These are actually the kind of games that Iwobi should play in, but he seems to be Wenger's favourite for PL games these days.

That is true up to a point, but it wouldnt be possible if we were in the CL this season.
Wenger can get away with it because one Euro teams so poor, two Cup teams so far have also been weak.
Depends what competition we get further down the line
