Pulis sacked appreciation thread

WBA sacked Pulis today.

- until Wenger moves on, they'll always be the also-rans in the major competitions. A club in elite purgatory. Always good enough to make it to the big race, never fast or smart enough to push over the finish line in first place. That's all about the manager. Until he changes, Arsenal fans will continue to celebrate glorious failure.

Yea, the job brief to managers like him, Hodgson, and Moyes - avoid relegation. Nobody expects them to get their teams in the top 4. That's why they are considered safe candidates no matter how many times they are sacked.

Would you rather have Wenger or Pulis?

Of course Wenger is prefferable to Pulis, but neither will win the league for Arsenal.

To be fair, I don't think Pulis would have been able to even come close to achieving what Arsene has achieved for Arsenal FC in our best years.

He wouldn't have been able to recruit top "little-known" players (then) like Vieira, Petit, Pires, Henry, Toure, RvP, etc. He wouldn't have been able to mould them to into the existing team and later on go a season unbeaten. I doubt he would have been able achieve consecutive Champions League qualification for umpteenth years.

Arsene actually did well, but thats the rub... DID. After the invincible years and the Stadium move, things went south. Well, we did win a few FA Cups in recent years but never came back to where we were before.
