He should. He is a decent striker. Much better vision and ball control than giroud or welbeck. Might have worked in this league but never really got going

I don't fancy myself much as a "striker" myself but I'd like to see him in any of the "three" positions behind the striker. I think, in this current formation, he'd excel in the "two" behind Giroud.

Hell, tonight is all about what we can do going forward, so we could have stuck him at LWB instead of Gibbs!

Walcott should be let go first before Perez imo. Perez gives our attack more offensive options while Walcott is very one dimensional. Giroud, if he stays, should be a plan B striker and when we need height and muscles to compete. Wellback should stay - he can still improve as he has strong offensive foundation having been coached at ManUre. His goals will come.

Boycott by the WengerOut crowd? Or it is a inconsequential game on a weekday?

Little from column A, little from column B. Has filled up a bit more now.

Poor giveaway from Holding. N'Dong gets through down the left but swings and misses and the ball goes out of play.

Ramsey drives forward and plays the ball in to Giroud, he plays it back first time to Alexis. Alexis takes a big first touch and tw*ts one from distance but its miles over.

Giroud nearly gets free in the penalty area after some good play between him and Ramsey, but Sunderland block and clear.

xhaka flicks a lovely first time pass to set Ozil away. Ozil plays Alexis in down the left. Alexis slips a through ball to Ramsey but Pickford gets there first.

Holding tries to play Bellerin in, in between the centre back and full back. Oviedo half-clears but the ball only gets as far as Xhaka, who touches it onto his left and has a go from distance, but its comfortable for Pickford.

Giroud has had a stinking opening 20.

Alexis's shot is blocked and Xhaka smashes the rebound first time, but he's dragged it wide.

All one way traffic so far, as you'd expect.

Half full stadium, crowd drifting out bored as team booed by a few at ht

- until Wenger moves on, they'll always be the also-rans in the major competitions. A club in elite purgatory. Always good enough to make it to the big race, never fast or smart enough to push over the finish line in first place. That's all about the manager. Until he changes, Arsenal fans will continue to celebrate glorious failure.

Ozil had played really well. Come in deep many times. Had got on the ball so many times compared to other games. Has hung on to the ball looking to thread the ball in rather just playing it to the open man. He needs to do this more often. He can't play like he's playing for Germany /RM when he's playing for us

Xhaka has been decent as well. Our movement had been good and our passing has a very good tempo. Individual bad touches /decisions are letting us down. Bellerin was selfish but sanchez hig behind the defender as well, should have run into source and stayed parallel to bellerin. Bellerin loons to be off to barca

Our s hit midfielders can't even control a game against the worst side in the league.

Why the f uck isn't Coquelin starting!

Welbeck should have play as the lWB

Mustafi can't handle old man Defore.

This team is dead!

Giroud & Xhaka Waste of space that 1st half.
Defence looks poor even against Sunderland.

We need speed going forward not a f*cking donkey like Giroud.

Monreal with an absolute shocker of a back pass.

I'm sorry but this is all down to Wenger. Most of this season we've looked completely unready and unmotivated for the start of games, and just now we've seen an example of us not being ready for the start of a second half.

Every now and then they need a b*llocking, but Wenger doesn't allow shouting and raised voices because it ruins the ambiance he has created. I'll try and write about this at some point but I've said it multiple times, Wenger makes the mistake of trying to treat footballers like adults.

Arsenal claim they had an attendance of 59,510 for the game against Sunderland.

When you factor in season tickets and tickets sold, it actually works out that…

You know what? It doesn't really matter. Because to anyone with eyes, the idea that there were 59,510 people at the Emirates to see the Gunners beat the Premier League's bottom team is beyond ludicrous.

Plus, perhaps advertisement revenues and sponsorship revenues are based on number of seats sold rather than actual attendance?
