Looks like Koscielny is the left centre back with Holding to the right.

Mustafi plays an absolute peach of a ball over the top to Alexis, who chests it down and gets one-on-one, but is flagged offside.

Mustafi with a brilliantly directed header from Ozil's corner, and Butland makes an equally brilliant save.

Ozil plays a beautiful diagonal ball over the top to Monreal, but his first touch is poor and it goes out of play.

Sh*t!

Coquelin works the ball to Bellerin on the right. Bellerin's cross takes a touch off a Stoke head and goes to the back post, where the adventurous Monreal arrives and smashes the post with a header.

Goal is coming.

Coquelin has been brilliant. He's far better than Xhaka and Ramsey.

Monreal is open every single time, if someone be who could attack was played by that position we'd be about 4 up by now. Litteraly nobody picking him up.

I love how we've developed a new chant for Sanchez weeks before he leaves us.

Giroud isn't playing well.

Mustafi booked, too aggressive.

Get in!

Coquelin plays a great through ball to get Bellerin in behind the Stoke defence. Bellerin plays it across goal for a Giroud tap in.

Half time 1-0.

Looked like it was going to be one of those frustrating halves where we dominate possession without making it count, but fortunately we go in a goal up after Bellerin set up Giroud.

Stoke have done nothing at all and we've been very, very comfortable, so expect them to come at us in the second half.

Coquelin has done well on his return to the starting lineup. Easily his best 45 in 2017, although that isn't saying much.

Agreed.
Giroud tends to score in cluster.
Won't surprise me that Giroud will score in every match he plays now.

It was a pleasant surprise to see Coquelin is playing well.
I think Wenger finally got through his thick skull that he is not Messi and should keep his game simple and understand why he was so successful when he returned from Charlton in December to launch his Arsenal Career:
#1 - his aggression and winning balls;
#2 - His interception and anticipation to cut off passes;
#3 - His knack for breaking up plays.

As long as Coquelin keeps his game simple and passes the ball immediately to a playmaker, he will do fine.

Love his accurate thru' ball to Bellerin.

Guess Ramsey was left out due to his psyche at Potteries that may inhibit his drive into the box against Shawcross.

Merl u are spot on. The moment we signed elneny, coquelin state trying to play diagonal balls and scooped passes. It worsened with the arrival of xhaka. Coquelin really should keep it simple.

What a goal!

Playing some really good, patient passing football. Alexis zips a pass through to Ozil who finishes one-on-one. Great stuff.

Holding caught out of position. Ball is put across goal and Diouf somehow heads wide of the post from point blank range.

Holding having some difficulty with Arnautovic in the second half.

Wonder FA will do a video review and give Crouch a yellow for unsporting behavior?

Look like England fans cannot complained on that Tanzanian referee in WC1986 when the most experienced referee in EPL made the same error of judgement?

Ramsey had a fine game and seems to peak at the right time during this run-in to try to win Wenger Cup.
The difference is Xhaka.

We need Hammer to do us a favor to hold Liverpool.(Sm131)
And we need WBA to upset Man City next weekend! grinning smiley

Yes,.
Xhaka is the catalyst that brought the team together to play as well as they can.
Pity it took Wenger so long to find out his best role.

And mind you, this happened by accident when due to an injured Mustafi, Wenger was forced to field 3 CB.

And the height of Holding makes the world of difference in cutting off all those crosses.
