STRIKERS contributed ..... 62.86% out of 60% expectation … 44 out of 72 goals.
MIDFIELD contributed ...... 30.00% out of 30% expectation … 21 out of 36 goals.
DEFENDER contributed ..... 4.29% out of 07% expectation ….. 3 out of 08 goals.
"Dubious goal"..................... 2.85% out of 03% expectation ….. 2 out of 04 goals.

STRIKERS are scoring regular and met the 60% goal tally expectation.
But we definitely need more goals from Alexis, Walcott, Giroud, Perez, OX, Iwobi and MIDFIELD to maintain our title challenge.

DEFENCE must start contributing too. Whatever happening to our “goal-scoring” DEFENCE?
Iwobi still has poor shooting technique and tends to rush and panicky in front of goal.
Since scoring his 2 fantastic goals, Xhaka has yet to hit the target with any of his distant shots to-date.
We have only Alexis and Walcott reaching double-figure now.

The STRIKERS are Alexis Sanchez, Oliver Giroud, Theo Walcott, Danny Welbeck, Alex Iwobi, Lucas Perez, Yaya Sanogo and Chuba Akpom.

Maximum no. of games predicted = 38 + (6+2) CL Cup + 3 Tin Cup + 5 FA Cup = 54 games.
We drew Bayern Munich and it is expected that Arsenal will be knocked out of CL Cup.

….. 6 goals scored = 2.00 goals per game after 3 League Cup games played.
….. 2 goals scored = 2.00 goals per game after FA Cup Round #3 played.
… 18 goals scored = 3.00 goals per game after 6 CL Cup group games.
… 44 goals scored = 2.20 goals per game after 20 League games.
… 70 goals scored = 2.33 goals per game after 30 total games played.
… 70 goals = 58% of 120 goals after playing 56% of expected 54 games.
… 54 games to reach 120 goals = 2.08 goals per game for remaining 24 games.

We need to score 2 or more goals for every game played to reach the 120-goal target.
We need a cricket score against at least once against inferior teams to boost the “total goal scored” total.

Theo Walcott scored the first league goal of the season.
Alexis scored the first CL Cup goal.
Xhaka scored the first Tin Cup goal.
Ramsey scored the first FA Cup Round #3 goal.
Ozil scored the first hat-trick in Match #12 against Ludogorets.
Alexis scored the first EPL hat-trick in Round #14 away to WHU.
Perez scored our 3rd hat-trick in Match #23 against FC Basel.

Aaron Ramsey is the 13th goal scorer.

The latest goal-scorer will be indicated at top of list:

… 76 goals = 63% of 120 goals after playing 59% of expected 54 games.
… 54 games to reach 120 goals = 2.00 goals per game for remaining 22 games.

We need to score 2 or more goals for every game played to reach the 120-goal target.

Theo Walcott scored the first league goal of the season.

STRIKERS are scoring regular and met the 60% goal tally expectation.
But both MIDFIELD and DEFENCE are not scoring regularly to maintain our title challenge.

DEFENCE started contributing with Mustafi.
Alex Iwobi willingness to shoot in front of goal is heartening.
Since scoring his 2 fantastic goals, Xhaka has yet to hit the target with any of his distant shots to-date.
We have only Alexis, Walcott and Giroud reaching double-figure now.

We need to score 2 or more goals for every game played to reach the 120-goal target.

Round #23 – January 31, 2017:
Liverpool 1-1 Chelski

Table A – “Traditional Top-8 Big Club” Mini-League which included Leicester City:
….. W … D … L ….. F ….. A … +/- __ Points
….. 6 ….. 1 … 3 … 22 … 10 ….. 9 … … 19 … Chelski
….. 5 ….. 4 … 0 … 15 ….. 8 ….. 7 … … 19 … Liverpool
….. 3 ….. 3 … 2 … 11 … 10 ….. 1 … … 12 … Everton
….. 2 ….. 5 … 2 … 11 ….. 9 ….. 2 … … 11 … Tiny Totts
….. 2 ….. 3 … 2 ….. 8 ….. 9 …. -1 … ….. 9 … Manchester United
….. 2 ….. 1 … 5 ….. 8 … 17 …. -9 … ….. 7 … Abu Dhabi City
….. 1 ….. 3 … 3 … 10 … 10 ….. 0 … ….. 6 … Arsenal
….. 1 ….. 2 … 5 ….. 7 … 19 .. -12 … ….. 5 … Leicester City

Table A clearly indicated that Liverpool and Chelski are superior against Top-8 teams.
But only Chelski is overwhelming favourite in the title race due to Liverpool poor results against Bottom-12 teams.
All Chelski need to do is to remain unbeaten against Top-8 plus collecting at least 66 to 70 points against Bottom-12 teams to win the title.

ManU, Arsenal, Tiny Totts and Abu Dhabi City are awful against Top-8 teams, and the primary reason why they are virtually out of the title race.
Arsenal, Tiny Totts and Abu Dhabi City are still in the title race due to their superior performance against Bottom-12 teams. ManU is out of the title race as it is extremely unlikely they can close the 14 points gap with 15 games left. And Chelski showing no sign of hitting a blip soon.

Arsenal is the worst performer against Top-6 teams and can be out of the title race by February if they still cannot beat Top-6 teams.

But 2015/16 Leicester City proved that an inferior team can still be a title-winner by being unbeaten against Bottom-12 teams, and loses only 3 games against Top-8 teams.

To-date, Arsenal had 4 losses – against Liverpool, Everton, Abu Dhabi City and Watford.

The gold standard remains as collecting 70 out of 72 points set by a title-winning Manchester United.
Chelski, Abu Dhabi City and Tiny Totts are still unbeaten by Bottom-12 teams.
Liverpool is out of the title race due to their poor 3rd quarter form.

Table B below will give a good indication on who is the potential title winner.
Round #23 Results:

Arsenal 1-2 Watford
Burnley 1-0 Leicester
Sunderland 0-0 Tottenham
West Ham 0-4 Man City
Man Utd 0-0 Hull

During January, we had a real chance to win the title for 4 out of 10 previous seasons if we had not collapsed in February:
2007/08 – Joint top with ManU;
2010/11 – 5 points behind ManU;
2013/14 – 1 point behind Abu Dhabi City; [Round #23 onward – 0 win 1 draw 0 loss]
2015/16 – 3 points behind Leicester City; [Round #23 onward – 0 win 0 draw 1 loss]
2016/17 – 9 points behind Chelski.

Table C indicated that 56 points haul by Chelski is the 2nd best out of previous 10 seasons (57 points is the best).
The title is for Chelski to lose now.

After Round #23, Arsenal collected 47 points, which equal the 47 points collected by Leicester City.
The Watford Setback virtually confirmed that Arsenal is out of the title race with the only chance to win the title is by winning all the remaining 15 games.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Trends indicated Chelski will win the title if they have a superlative 3rd Quarter Performance like:
Fact #1 – At least 24 points;
Fact #2 – At least 8 wins.
Fact #3 – Chelski is the champion if last 15-game results are 12W 1D 2L.

Lest we forgot, ManU was 12 points behind Keegan Newcastle in December and managed to overhaul them to win the title.
Similarly, Arsenal was 12 points behind ManU after 1997 Christmas weekend and we went on to string together a 14 consecutive wins to snatch the title.

Both Chelski and Liverpool have the greatest advantage of not playing in Europe; which will be a great advantage comes the crunch March/April period.
Perhaps it is best for Arsenal to be knocked out by Bayern Munich and fully focus on the title race?

Watford loss confirmed that Arsenal is continuing the woeful trend for the previous 10 seasons (except for 2007/08) that we will be out of the title race by February.
The current trend indicated that we are at best remain a Top-4 team, never a title winner.

Table F indicated the inability of the chasing Pack to close the 9-point gap with Chelski during 2nd half.
3rd Quarter results so far indicated that Everton is the team in form.

This season looks more and more like 2010/11 season where Arsenal was unable to close the 5 points gap with ManU.
Table F indicated the title challenge of Liverpool is fast fading away.

Table F – 3rd Quarter – Round #20 to #29 – 2-Jan-2017 to 5-Mar-2017: [/size]

Arsenal is out of the title race and facing a grim race to win Top-4 spot.
We need these remaining game results 6W 6D 1L to collect 74 points to stand a chance to cliché Top-4 spot.

* One game in hand.

2016/17 season is our 4th best out of 10 previous seasons with 2007/08 (60 points) and 2013/14 (55 points) better.
With the exception of 2007/08 season (1 loss), all the rest, including 2016/17, had been averaging 5 to 8 losses after Round #25. It proved that Arsene Wenger is not improving his team since 2007/08, even to the extent of buying Koscielny, Mustafi, Welbeck, Ozil, Alexis and Cech.

Wenger’s February Flops did it again as they did for the past 10 seasons; out of title race by February.

Round #26 – February 27, 2017:
Leicester 3-1 Liverpool
Man City P-P Man Utd

Table B – “Traditional Top-8 Big Club” Mini-League which included Leicester City:
….. W … D … L ….. F ….. A … +/- __ Points

Chelsea 3-1 Swansea
Everton 2-0 Sunderland
Southampton P-P Arsenal
Tottenham 4-0 Stoke

Table C – Comparison of the Top-8 team against Bottom-12 teams:
….. W … D … L ….. F ….. A … +/- __ Points
… 14 ..... 2 … 0 …. 41 … 10 … 31 … … 44 … Abu Dhabi City
… 14 ..... 2 … 1 …. 43 … 15 … 28 … … 44 … Arsenal
… 13 ..... 3 … 0 …. 39 ….. 7 … 32 … … 42 … Tiny Totts
… 13 ..... 2 … 0 …. 30 ….. 8 … 22 … … 41 … Chelski

….. 8 ..... 3 … 4 …. 38 … 21 … 17 … … 27 … Liverpool
….. 4 ..... 4 … 8 …. 17 … 21 …. -4 … … 16 … Leicester City

Table B clearly indicated that Liverpool and Chelski are superior against Top-8 teams.
But Chelski is running away with the title race due to their superior results against Bottom-12 teams.

ManU, Arsenal and Abu Dhabi City are awful against Top-8 teams, and the primary reason why they are virtually out of the title race.
Tiny Totts are still in the title race due to their superior performance against Bottom-12 teams.

Arsenal is out of the title race in February by being the worst performer against Top-6 teams; even worse than Everton and Leicester City.
Liverpool is pathetic, and crashed out of the title race during 3rd Quarter by winning only 1 game out of 7 games played.

2015/16 Leicester City proved that an inferior team can still be a title-winner by being unbeaten against Bottom-12 teams, and loses only 3 games against Top-8 teams.

But Arsenal had 5 losses and counting – against Liverpool, Everton, Abu Dhabi City, Watford and Chelski.

Table D – 3rd Quarter Results – Round #20 to #29:

….. W … D … L ….. F ….. A … +/- __ Points
….. 5 ..... 2 … 0 …. 17 ….. 4 … 13 … … 17 … Everton
….. 4 ..... 2 … 1 …. 13 ….. 4 ….. 9 … … 14 … Tiny Totts
….. 4 ..... 2 … 1 …. 13 ….. 6 ….. 7 … … 14 … Chelski
….. 4 ..... 1 … 1 …. 12 ….. 8 ….. 4 … … 13 … Abu Dhabi City
….. 3 ..... 3 … 0 …… 9 ….. 2 ….. 7 … … 12 … Manchester United
….. 3 ..... 1 … 2 …. 13 ….. 9 ….. 4 … … 10 … Arsenal
….. 1 ..... 3 … 3 …… 9 … 12 …. -3 … ….. 6 … Liverpool
….. 1 ..... 1 … 5 …… 3 … 14 … -11 … ….. 4 … Leicester City

Table D indicates clearly why Chelski is running away with the title for the simple reason that none of the chasing pack is consistency enough to string together a run of wins to close the 9-point gap.
Instead, Chelski is still the best performer in 3rd Quarter against Top-6 teams.
Chelski will win the title with 9W 1D 2L out of remaining 12 games.
