You know what, Chelsea needed a dm, so they went and bought Ginkel. The guy got injured, and chelsea went again to buy Matic, the both players costing in excess of 30m pounds in transfer fee alone. The cash doesn't look that much in today's market to be fair, but not every club can do that. Wenger can't just go and buy any player just for buying sake, because it will then mean that we'll need another player in that position in the long term, and we can't afford that. Our finances is not such that if a player doesn't come good, or gets injured like in the case of Ginkel, we just go again to buy another player, in the space of six months. With clubs like chelsea, their financial muscle cover a lot of their feckups in the transfer market. But Arsenal don't have that cash to experiment at any significant cost. Wenger knew we needed a striker long before the media and fans said so ( I was saying it long before anyone on here), but for him, and I agree, it's gotta be suarez or higuain or someone of that quality.
I agree that any decent striker could've pushed us further this very season, but that is mainly with the benefit of hindsight, something Wenger or any other human for that matter doesn't have. We were more than 20 points behind ManU last season, it's therefore only fair to think that it's only a top class striker that can push us closer to the top, hence the pursuit of suarez and higuain. With what we had, Walcott, Podolski, and Giroud, we would've been very ok without another top striker if those players hadn't missed a big part of the season. I will take podolski, walcott and giroud over eto'o, ba, and torres any day of the week.

Arsene wenger has done an absolutely masterful job within the constraints he has... Every single year, he has outperformed our spending every single year he has been manager. It is extraordinary. -Gazides.

Well done Matt

- until Wenger moves on, they'll always be the also-rans in the major competitions. A club in elite purgatory. Always good enough to make it to the big race, never fast or smart enough to push over the finish line in first place. That's all about the manager. Until he changes, Arsenal fans will continue to celebrate glorious failure.

Taking Ba on loan isn't the same as spending double figures in millions on a striker who probably isn't even as good as Ba.

There you go, Ba isn’t as good as Aubameyang

Lacazette isn't as good as Sanogo either if you listen to DeKnobhead.

Shame we've just spent double figures in millions on Lacazette and Aubameyang eh De Times, Wenger must be losing the plot.

The obviously 'better than Laca' Sanogo has scored a wopping 1 goal in 15 games for his new club Toulouse as well. Taking his sniper stats to a big 4 league goals ... in the last 5 years.

Lacazette cannot compete with those numbers, ay DeTimes.
