M'Vila drops Arsenal hint

Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila has admitted he would be interested in a move to either Arsenal or Real Madrid.

The French international is thought to be among Arsene Wenger's top transfer targets this summer, while Real have also been credited with an interest in M'Vila.

The 21-year-old has admitted he would welcome the chance to work alongside fellow Frenchman Wenger at Arsenal.

"Inter, Arsenal, Real ... I will take the fun everywhere!," M'Vila told Canal +.

"These are great clubs.

"If the coach calls you and tells you he wants you to make you play, especially a French coach, it changes everything.

"If the coach calls you and tells you he wants you to make you play, especially a French coach, it changes everything."
Yann M'Vila

"The important thing for me is getting playing time for the France team."

M'Vila also played down talk that he has been sounded out by Jose Mourinho about a move to Real Madrid, but hinted he would be keen on a switch to the Bernabeu.

"Mourinho calling me? He does not even have my number," joked M'Vila

"But play at Real? Yeah, it would be an absolute blast!

"It would be great to play with Kaka and [Karim] Benzema."

sounds bloody mental tbh.

Never even seen this guy play I don't think. Can anyone tell me about him?

gunnersingh 02 April, 2012 15:33
I'd take him in a heartbeat. His got pace and tactical intelligence.

If we went to play a pressing game, we need players with pace and energy in midfield.

He's the most used player in the new French set up - Blanc rates him as one of if not his most important players.

I think he's a player that would definitely improve us, but not as much as buying in other areas. Song is an automatic selection, leaving Wilshere, Arteta, and Coquelin the likely contenders for the other CM role.

Song + M'Villa partnership would be pretty epic but going for a versatile defender ala Vertonghen or midfielder ala Honda or Kagawa would make more sense.

i dont think we need to spend £15+ on another centre midfielder who passes the ball side to side 5yards to the left, 5 yards backwards then 5 yards to the right!!!!!!

i want to see an attacking centre midfielder who runs with the ball, takes defenders on and provides an end product in terms of an assist or a goal for themselves

hazard, eriksen (gotze but he has signed new contract at dortmund!)

we dont need anymore wingers - gervinho, theo, oxlade and ryo give us plenty of depth AND strength

weve got enough centre midfielders in terms of keeping possesion - arteta, song, ramsey, rosicky, diaby (if fit) wilshere, coquelin, frimpong, denilson (he aint been sold yet!)

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
Mad Jens 02 April, 2012 15:37
Did you really just say Denilson?

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
SuperRob 02 April, 2012 15:38
As a defensive midfielder he is alot better than song (partly because song doesn't really play as a defensive mid!)

So I would love to see him along side wilshere next season allowing jack and the CAM to get forward with this beast protecting the centre backs. Because I think we should play with an actual DM rather than 2 half and halfs in Arteta and Song.

Would be a great signing but I can see him ending up at Madrid.

Song and M'Villa would be very epic as Jens stated, but it doesn't really make sense unless there is a plan to change our pattern of play around quite drastically.

Wilshere, Arteta, Coquelin, Ramsey and Diaby are already going to have to fight for their place, with Rosicky our only serious attacking midfielder.

Yes, I seen him a couple of times for club and country. The thing is, I am not convinced that he is any better than what we already have. Decent all round midfielder with lots of energy, but to me not fitting in any exact midfield roles that we are screaming for.

Neither a great playmaker, nor a great dribbler, not a true ballwinner, not a true DM, I am not sure what role is best for him at Arsenal, and I'm not sure we need him now. I don't think he is an instant impact player. If we are building for the future though, he looks a really good prospect.

he n Vertonghen have had their come get me plea.... i see us gettin only one of them and for versatility, and if we do go for one JV pips the post...

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
Mad Jens 02 April, 2012 15:57
Ya, agreed. Just makes more sense despite M'Villa being a quality footballer.

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
Jack_is_the_truth 02 April, 2012 16:02
on what planet would song and mvilla be epic. we are suffering because arteta is playing more of a defensive role than is required alongside song, so why would the prudent thing to sign a defensive midfielder to play alongside song

we havent got any creativity in the midle of the park, jack is the automtic choice to play alongside song, what we need is someone who can play ahead of them

the correct format for a team playing three in the middle(except you are playing for sam allardyce) is 1 defensive midfielder, 1 box to box or central midfielder and one attacking midfielder

so except mvilla is replacing song its a none starter

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint

Have you watched Song play at all recently, Jack.

You do surprise me sometimes.

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
gunnersingh 02 April, 2012 16:08
M'vila as dm, wilshere box to box, Gotze AM

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
Mad Jens 02 April, 2012 16:10
Song has been our standout midfielder all season, and Gotze we're never going to sign anytime soon.

is there a point behind this stupid question

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint

Not really. I guess you're just a moron.

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
Jack_is_the_truth 02 April, 2012 16:24
(Sm22) yeah ok

on one hand you think song is the stand out midfielder, you infer that he is useless as a dm and i am the moron(Sm105)(Sm105)(Sm105)

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
Mad Jens 02 April, 2012 16:26
Where the hell did I ever say he was useless as a DM, genius?

You can take your b.s. inferences somewhere else.

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
Jack_is_the_truth 02 April, 2012 16:46
then what was your point exactly

why are you asking me if i had seen song you halfwit

my post is written in clear english, if you disagree with what i am saying then you are infering that song is rubbish at DM

try and understand what is written before you jump in chest beating like a neanderthal

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
Mad Jens 02 April, 2012 16:55
Your definition of clear English is debatable, but that aside...

My point is that you think we're struggling because Song has taken on a more prominent role going forward. I don't see how him being one of the best midfielders in the entire league this season has hurt us.

Arteta has done his job admirably as well, and both provide a good balance for us to build from in midfield. Maybe its slower than some people like, but it is solid and reliable.

You have a way of devolving good discussions into shi.tting contests though Jack, so I'm not sure what else I expected from you. It's pretty much all you do.

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
Jack_is_the_truth 02 April, 2012 16:59
you are an idiot, its very clear now

you have the brazen open with this

and then in your very next sentence you come out with this gem

at what point did i say any of that ?

Maybe AW's looking to sign M'Vila for the former, whilst pushing Song into the latter? Hence M'Vila wouldn't displace Song, but play alongside him?

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
Indiangooner 02 April, 2012 17:51
Song doesnt have the pace to be a box to box player.... we cld do with some1 like Ramires

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
Shane 02 April, 2012 18:01
Good player, saw him in a few of Rennes Europa League ties. Defensively he's better than Song and offensively I dunno what he's like because he protects his back four.

M'Villa as the anchor, Wilshere as the box to box and somebody better than Ramsey and Rosicky and we'll have a tidy midfield next season with the likes of Arteta and Song and Diaby hopefully coming in when needed.

That's how I'd do it but what do I know, I only won the Uefa Cup with Fulham in Championship Manager 01/02.

Jack wilshere very likely to move to more of an attacking midfield role next season

*Signing Ozil is a signing Bergkamp type moment for Arsenal. It changes things utterly.*

That would not surprise me at all.
wasn't that the plan for the arc of his development all along?

how long do you think it will take for him to make that transition effectively? 5 games? 10 games?

of course, this is assuming that Jack returns 100% healthy ... and we do not yet know whether he will or not.

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
Jack_is_the_truth 02 April, 2012 20:41
well he transitioned from right wing to center mid instantly, he is that type of player that will give any position asked of him 100%

Re: M'Vila drops Arsenal hint
Big Guhnz 03 April, 2012 01:33
we need a bigger squad with more quality with each player having good competition and people are moaning

I really hope we get this guy how much at times we have needed a player to just SIT and not get rushes of blood and run out of position
