Euros 2012

Anyone having a bet on top scorer?

I fancy Torres at 20/1. Quarter odds e/w to 4th place.

Torres coming back to form
Spain favourites
Easyish group (sorry ROI)

Is Villa still injured??

Gump is available at 80/1. Could be his time.

I don't think any ROI supporters will take any offence, we know what's expected of us and we have to exceed it.

Gonna go for Gomez, Villa hasn't played for months so it will be difficult for him, if he's even called up, I haven't seen their squad. You just never know with Torres but 20/1 is very nice.

Thinking of putting ROI on to get to a SF. Not as ludicrous as it sounds. Spain should win every game so we would need a win and a draw. Italy are gone to s,hite and hopefully we get lucky against Croatia (the manager, Bilic has incidentally said that ROI will be the whipping boys, showing a lack of respect that has cost arsenal dearly at times). A win vs Italy (e have a win and two draws against them in our last three meetings and a draw v Croatia would probably mean 2nd. So we'd play top spot from England's group.

If it's France - will be seen as revenge for Henry handball

If it's England - always seen as revenge for 800 years etc etc

Win that and it's a semi final

I'm optimistic

I thought the objective of a troll was to wind people up. I can't see anything particularly contentious in what I wrote.

Now get back in your mouse hole.

I'm tempted to stick some money on Benzema.

My money's on Germany to win the whole thing so I agree with Flynch on Gomez, it's a good shout.

Torres doesn't even know if he's made the squad yet so I'd hold out on backing him until Del Bosque names the squad.

my money on germany to win but not gomez to be top goalscorer - in every big game that he has played in he flops, he flopped at the 2010 world cup, and he flopped against chelski the other day!

top goalscorer for me would be Podolski!

Holland can win or get upto semis at least. rvp and huntellar will be great pair if they play together in starting line up.

Germany have got a really tough group. I can’t see many goals in there. Podolski as top scorer would be great though. We could sell him to ManC for big money before he’s even played for us.

I thought that was pretty funny lovechild, sadly irony is not always obvious enough for some people online. I'm not convinced about Germany and think Spain will benefit from being slightly less fancied than they should be. Surprised more people here don't think RvP is a likely top scorer. Guess Germans are flavour of the month.

Jelavic for top striker! I can't see RVP scoring, he has no sinergy with Snejder and Robben, plus I think he'll try to avoid challenges in order to a get a huge contract.

If Huntelaar starts for Holland I could see him taking it, otherwise I'll try to be different and say Soldado.

Jelavic is a great shout, RvP's out of steam. Can see him scoring a few but not getting top spot.

I will second MJ and say Soldado if he is selected. He really has an eye for goal. Muller, although not a CF, is a big game player. Nasri has been playing well for France recently so I expect him to provide many assists to Benzema as well.
