Been thinking about this for a few days now and as much as I feel we desperately need to, I don't think Wenger will sign an ACM. He might sign a backup or a young one but not someone who can come straight in and create assists from the middle.
i know arsene might want to accomodate arteta when jack returns, and i feel AM could eventually jacks best postion, but i think either hazard or goetze is a certainty
Gotze just signed a new contract. How anyone thinks he does than and then leaves this summer is beyond me.
So that leaves fighting over Hazard without about 10 other teams, then shifting him from the Wing into Attacking Midfield. Can he play there? Sure. Is that where he has played and made his name? No.
Our financial muscle in the transfer market is well documented though. He's as good as signed, no doubt about it.
No, they're generally expensive and we have actually got two players injured who could play there. Diaby and Jack can do it and the emergence of Ox I makes it unlikely in my
opinion.
will we need one if jack is back and if AOC is to get more games, and of course if pod signs we might be seeing two up front some of the time, so again another reason why we may not need one
*Signing Ozil is a signing Bergkamp type moment for Arsenal. It changes things utterly.*
Didn't nasri sign a new contract just before he signed for us or have I remembered it wrong. It could just be Dortmund making sure they get a decent transfer fee. It doesn't necessarily mean he will stay there. However that has probably priced us out of the running.
Seems like we can only afford (only think they are value for money) top players when they only have one year left on their contract.
I think we can get by without one. We need a world class defensive midfielder much more. We are used to Fabregas carrying the team and want the new attacking midfielder to do the same.
But if we strengthen the attack, the wings and the defence. Someone like M'Vila who can actually protect the defence would do more good for us. Look at QPR second goal, Diakhate had 30 yard free space just outside our penalty area. Where was Arteta or /Song? Too many times our midfield is wide open and too easy to play against
if rvp goes, he goes. the idea that arsenal as a club is over if he leaves is laughable. we had nasri and cesc leave in the summer and we have improved points wise. so who says we will go backwards if rvp leaves?
We could do with a top class AM, but if we're talking about someone decent enough for that role then we've got them in Rosicky, Ramsey and Aoc. Arsenal isnt signing an attacking midfielder this summer, and i can bet my bottom penny on that.
Also, with the way we play now and with the signing of Podolski, i think Robben is the best available player we could get. With one year remaining on his contract, he can go for a decent amount, and can accept a reasonable wage to come to arsenal. Any team involving robben, rvp, wilshere and song in their front six is good enough to beat any team in the world and win any trophy.
I don't think we will sign a world class attacking midfielder either. I would be perfectly happy with us signing Hoilett though. Even though he is a winger I believe he can play the attacking midfield role just fine.
For me the ideal player we can sign for that position would be Marek Hamsik. That will never happen though as he just signed a new contract with Napoli and he would be too expensive for us even if he did not extend his contract.
We don't have anybody with 20 goals in the league, so that is a handicap - Arsene Wenger
He has actually performed as a CAM for Blackburn and done quite well - he's certainly capable there. Though I'd rather he continued on the wing and AOC moved centrally, if it came to it.
Hamsik is good, but for me Kagawa would be the perfect signing. As you say though, probably won't sign anyone in that position.
100 % will..only, it will be someone way out of left field...do not except it to be an A-lister...most possibly french...or has some sort of french element...if we are lucky, it will be that blackburn bloke...id settle for m'vila, goetze, podolski, and jan vertwhatthef.uckever...but then again, im neither senile or wenger...expect only the unexected
