Everytime I watch Fabregas it's like he never used to play for us.

Re: Messi

why is that shane, when I see him for Barca it just reminds me of his best bits for us

Re: Messi

Dunno, it's just kinda hard to believe a player that good was our property as little as 9 months ago.

Re: Messi
Spursrule 19 February, 2012 22:05
Fabregas was way too good for arsenal, and I hope he keeps his form so barcelona catch Real Madrid and wipe that smile off Mourinho's smug face.

Re: Messi
BootyDaddy 19 February, 2012 22:06
Don't worry, you'll be able to think th same of RVP in another 9 months.

I was thinking the same thing. I tend not to watch barca too much but this really reminded me how good he is and was for us.

Fab had a great game today, and was unlucky to hit the crossbar with a beautiful reverse volley

Re: Messi

wonder if he will feel like having a fresh challenge in a physical league like EPL in a couple of seasons or tactical Italian league

Re: Messi
nis 20 February, 2012 17:07
yh id like to see him in italy,

theres no point in coming here where he would prob score only 30 goals a season and ppl would call him a flop,
these old millwall, west ham fans at work always tryin to tell me

1 ronaldo is a much better player because he done it in enger land

2 that messi is a diver/is weak???? no 1 thing messi doesnt do is dive ive seen him stand up to tackles or get up and keep running from tackles that would have most players rolling,

3 look at wen he played insert english team that time he was quiet

4 he was rubbish in wc2010 , erm no he wasnt he was being a playmaker who made chance after chance, he doesnt need to score every game ya kno

Re: Messi
Zainy 20 February, 2012 18:13
While I agree nis that people sometimes try to undervalue him, he is most certainly a diver. He does occassionally stand up in a tackle, but ive seen him flop over the place A LOT!

Re: Messi
holzini 20 February, 2012 18:21
i dont know 1 defender who can stop him ...
but ronaldo has the overall package !

Re: Messi
nis 20 February, 2012 19:17
who messi? or ronaldo?
lol does anybody remeber wen they played us and song had his shirt and hes still ran about 15 yards before the ref called a foul

any specific times of his diving as id say i watch like 75 of his games and that is one thing i cant say about him diving

(hard work will beat talent if talent dont work hard)

Re: Messi
SaltnPeppah 20 February, 2012 22:51
Anyone who says Messi dives is a fool

Re: Messi
Zainy 20 February, 2012 22:57
Yeah, maybe thats why he was booked twice in 2 months for diving in the box at the end of last year.

He is completely overshadowed by the other Barce divers thats for sure and used to have a relatively spotless record until recently, but dont go attributing something to someone that doesnt exist. Messi dives and has been booked for it on more than one occassion. That im afraid is a fact.

Somewhat less debatable is that he is the best player in the world for a number of years.

Re: Messi
Gunners R Us 21 February, 2012 01:30
I still think Ronaldo has been better this season

Re: Messi
Shane 21 February, 2012 01:44
Of course he dives, when Barca are really up against it you'll see Messi taking tumbles along with the rest of them.

They're all like that, it's just as integral to the modern day Barca as tiki-taka or the 5 second rule, it's coached into them, bunch of cheating c*nts.

Re: Messi
nis 21 February, 2012 13:35
video:

i cnat call him a diver i mean everybody goes down easy sometimes but ive never seen a player who rides tackles and carrys on when a certain penalty would be given like messi does

Re: Messi

Fair enough, he is certainly far less to blame than most.

Re: Messi
Mad Jens 21 February, 2012 15:07
This Messi fellow doesn't look half bad. I reckon we should sign him.

Re: Messi
Zainy 21 February, 2012 15:22
And quickly before anyone else find out how good he is.

Yeah, maybe thats why he was booked twice in 2 months for diving in the box at the end of last year.

Update: As of February 26, Messi has reached five yellows and therefore a suspension (three handballs, one protest and one dive).

And also a New compilation of Messi never Dives:

How often are players booked for diving? Very rarely and the dives I've witnessed he wasn't booked so that must be an additional one.

That's a bullshit video and using a YouTube montage as proof makes for a bullshit arguement.

Re: Messi
Zainy 28 February, 2012 10:44
Indeed that is a ridiculous argument snp.

Re: Messi
80'sGoona 28 February, 2012 10:50
Fabregas said he preferred playing deeper in midfield, so Barca stick him up front.

They really didn't need him, regardless of how many goals he's scored.

How many players apart from Messi (try to) stay on their feet when chopped down? Not too many, I'd say.

Just because he prefers there does not mean it is his best position. We stuck him behind the striker and he excelled.

Steven gerrard often says he prefers playing deeper, yet when benetiz played him behind torres he was playing the best he ever had in his career.

He probably is. I'd still like to see him do it in another league though and at international level or else some will forever doubt that.

Watch pretty much all of Barcelona's games - he does go down easy at times. Though I've not seen him go down completely outright without any contact like that chimp c*nt did on Sunday

Re: Messi
younghansolo 28 February, 2012 21:53
I seem to remember song getting booked in the second leg 2 seasons ago because of a Messi dive.

(Sm22) (Sm22).....cracks me up everytime I hear him called that.

Anyway, I don't think Messi's that bad compared to most, except when he plays against Real.

Then he gets sucked into the diving shenanigans along with all the usual suspects like slimy Pedro et al.

Re: Messi
Mad Jens 28 February, 2012 22:05
Agree - not innocent but he's hardly the poster child for that sort of thing.

Pedro... what can you say about him...

Re: Messi
PiP the Gunner 28 February, 2012 22:14
I've watched the last 2 Barca v RM games, & each time the diving, play-acting etc gets worst.

Although between them they've got some of the best players on the planet, in some ways that fixture is a terrible advert for football.

You see some great football & goals but they always ruin it as a spectacle with all the cr.ap that goes on.

That's true. But I don't think having him in their team has improved them in any way. It's disrupted the balance. Busquets Xavi Iniesta with Villa Messi Pedro or Sanchez for Villa or Pedro is their most potent line up.

I'm just being bitter, ignore me.

Re: Messi
PiP the Gunner 28 February, 2012 22:46
This season Cesc has got 15 goals & 15 assists in 34 games. Amazing, considering how sh!.t he was for us last season at times.......

And yes, I'm bitter too!
