Song and Campbell will play next 3 PL games at CB. So not a total disaster. But we will need Song in midfield v Spurs ideally.

Only problem will be the amount of games coming up with Barca, Will Song also come in for Campbell as he won't be able to play more than 1 game a week.

Does anybody know the FA rules? Some are saying that is only a 1 game ban coz is not violent conduct. I surely would be relieve if is only one game.

I think it is a 2 match ban for a straight red if it was not deemed malicious which it wasn't - the rest will do him good

I have predicted a draw for the birmingham game so will be over the moon if we win that one.

No vermaelen or Gallas for the next game vs B'gham. That should be interesting. Wenger is an IDIOT for not getting proper cover in the CB position when he had the chance. He really can't blame anybody but himself. He knew djourou would be out for the season, and still gambled that Gallas and Vermaelen would be able to play in every game, with only two tired old horses as backups.

I think the ref had his mind on our last match where campbell shouldve been sent off. I dont have any problem with the red, but it wasnt a penalty. We've had a similar penalty to our favour this season, i think.

what you mean Campbell and Song for one game or do you mean Campbell and Vermaelen

match of the day say it should not have been a red card as whu player not in control of the ball, and also that if anything is was not even a penalty as whu guy dived and was not fouled by vermaelen

saltnpeppah it very much looks like one game ban and if Campbell and Song perform as well as they did in second half today then that should be enough to see off Brum, and TV will be well rested for Barca game the following wed, anyway if our attack perform v brum we should be able to have sol and sil at the back and still win

Playing Song as CB is fine, except it deprives us of his energy and drive in midfield. It also shows how little faith Wenger has in Silvester, which brings us back to my original grievance : why did Wenger gamble by failing to get proper cover for that position in January...? (surely Campbell wasn't meant to play in every game).

i ask once again which CB moved in the window that we should have signed, did we not agree an £8M fee for Smalling(utd then went to £10M), who you suggest we should have signed(that was available)

i don't have any particular names in mind Eduardo. But surely, it shouldn't have been so difficult to find someone younger and more reliable than Silvestre, don't you think? The financial sacrifice would have been worth it, in my opinion.

Silvestre is a fourth choice CB, fifth if all CB fit and really sixth when you consider Song for CB, and he is as good as any 4th, 5th or 6th choice CB anywhere

Besides WTF would wenger use a sub to bring on silvestre when we had someone as able as song to cover the role?

More to the point, Wenger did bring in Sol as extra cover in Jan' (you know, the CB that played well yesterday).
