It looks like Arsenal have really made an effort this time. I guess it's up to the Islington residents now to send in those e-mails of support. Or we could lose the sports centre again!

This is no time for apathy! By doing nothing we could hurt the club. Pity this process is limited to people in the Islington area

But isnt this an issue for all Londoners? I understand that Islington Residents will carry more weight, isnt the the Greater London Authority involved at all?

You're right, Padre. This should interest all Londoners because it's labelled as the biggest regeneration project in London. GLA are well aware of this scheme; didn't they set the guidelines on housing density? So Arsenal's architects wouldn't be foolish enough to break the rules when they know damn well the objectors would cry foul to the GLA at the first opportunity.

I suppose Islington people carry a bit more weight with the councillors, because often their biggest worry is where their next vote is coming from. But surely Arsenal and the Council will taker a wider view on things. They must know that the old JVC centre was popular with people from all over the place, so they're going to be interested in everyone's opinion, especially if they can sell it as a tourist attraction.

So we should all write in, really. Even if the councillors don't include all of our e-mails in their stats, we don't want to keep them in the dark about public feeling.

Man, I remember playing at the JVC when I was little and meeting David Seamen. Best day of my life back then. Please support this it brings such positivity to the area and gives kids something to do!
