Vinyl out sells digital for first time in years

Here

- until Wenger moves on, they'll always be the also-rans in the major competitions. A club in elite purgatory. Always good enough to make it to the big race, never fast or smart enough to push over the finish line in first place. That's all about the manager. Until he changes, Arsenal fans will continue to celebrate glorious failure.

It's always been outselling digital in my house. I buy around 60 vinyl lps a year. I only buy about 10 cds a year, usually because the dumb artist hasn't put their effort out on vinyl.

Yes quote: Vinyl sales hit £2.4m last week compared with the £2.1m made from digital music purchases, further proof that record shopping has gone mainstream.

That's insane. I guess it shows just how few people actually pay for their music.

I sold all my vinyl and went digital a few years ago. Definitely a richer sound with vinyl in my opinion and I miss the stylus jumping occasionally.

That's half the story, but vinyl production has increased and the sale of record players is more common. Stores like Urban Outfitters sell vinyl and record players.
Richer Sounds sells quality turntables. Tabloids advertise decks and supermarkets sell vinyl.
A growing minority enjoy the real experience of vinyl.

Most vinyl is pressed from the digital copy so there's actually no difference in the sound (usually worse without a top kek system) but as a music nerd I'm happy to see it coming back.

Might push musicians to put out real vinyl versions of their music.

There are a lot of new pressings from new bands now straight from the studio on to vinyl.

Obviously depends on the band. But if you buy an album from - say - Justin Timberlake, who re-released it on Vinyl, you will just be getting a digital conversion.

As I will never buy an album by Justin Timberlake I'm not too worried.
