AC Milan News: Vladimir Putin Plotting Investment With AC Milan

Having failed to win the Serie A title last season, AC Milan fans were hoping that a few changes in the off-season would help them for the upcoming season. Unfortunately for them, it seems that the seven time European Champions have taken a step backwards with the departures of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi made it clear that the sales of Silva and Ibrahimovic would help clear the Milan side out of debt for years to come.
"Our finances will now be in order for the next three to four years," said Berlusconi. "The doors are open for anyone who wants to help our squad. We have Milan in our hearts and we are always thinking about what's best for Milan."
Losing two of your best players isn't always easy to cope with, but Berlusconi is confident that the Rossonerri will be able to recover. One way to do that is adding investors to the club which is what he has planned. It's reported that he traveled to Russia for a few days on 'non-political' business.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is very good friends with Berlusconi which could be a deciding factor in the investment. The actual investment would be made on behalf of Gazprom, a state-owned utility company. The Russian company would look to buy a 25% stake in the club in return for an investment of €180 million.
Could Milan be the next European team with Russian investors? What would it mean for the Italian giants? Well, it would certainly help them build their squad significantly, having lost their two best players.
One of the downfalls to this is the timing. Already into August and the deal still being just a thought, Milan would most likely not have enough time to invest that money before the transfer window closes. Also, it seems that a lot of the bigger name players have already moved or no longer have an interest in moving to the Italian League.
The constant poor media for the Italian's in regards to match fixing has distanced a lot of the world's top players from the Serie A. If this deal is to go thru, how long before AC Milan get's caught in some wrong doing considering the pull these two have across the globe?
