We pays our money and we take our chance(Sm14), I said I would follow it after its last few runs until it disappoints and today it disappointed big time, never showed and never looked like showing. I'm out.

I'm not sure why they insist on dropping it in at the back, you can keep a horse covered up in midfield, but it was never going to come from that far back, not that it ever looked likely to anyway.

Also not sure getting it back out so quickly was a good idea, if it had gone up a couple of pounds so what, it's not it's rating that's stopping it winning. Give it a month off and try again would be best imo, maybe they've just gone to the well once to often.

Not at all surprised by that run, as I keep saying, this is a horse running 20lb below it's form of last year, it's not the horse it was, nowhere near, and I've no confidence it'll ever win a race again.

IIm afraid that's the last time it will be getting any of my pension money.. thumbs up

Sorry Alfie, I only put the thread up to share the bits of info I get about him, apart from the race at York last year where he was beaten in a photo, I've never recommended having a bet on him. I have to have fun bets on him at least don't I, but his record speaks for itself, 3 wins from 44 races, with my punting head on I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole, there are better investments for your pension out there than Eddie.

That's more than I had on him Alfie, £2.50 EW for me. That's as much fun as I'm prepared to risk on him.(Sm14)

Maybe I was a bit presumptuous moaning about him being out the back again, seems that wasn't the plan at all.

"Oh dear, it didn't go to plan yesterday, Eddie chucked his head up again coming out the stalls, as he has done all year for some reason, but worse than usual, and it cost him a lot of ground. Ross didn't quite know what to do as Phil told him not to go wide, so he sat and suffered but lost his place mid race and could never get back into it. Its one to write off I'm afraid, no pre Christmas winner for us sadly!"

Ah well, that's racing, we'll probably get another couple of runs out of him before the money runs out.

Out again at Wolves on Monday, back up to 14f in a 0-75. I think this one really is the last chance saloon, no prize money here and the kitty will be empty and the partnership defunct.

They're happy enough with Eddie, expecting a decent run....as long as he gets out of the stalls OK. But will he ?

I am on Eddie, keep the faith, mind you I am playing with the bookies money thanks to Josh Wright.

Didn't trap well but got upsides reasonably quickly, kept throwing his head to the left all the way round was snatched up as he was cut up on the inside at the bend, that ruined any chance he might have had, although I really never thought he was gonna get into a finish.

Didn't carry a penny of my money, I know Eddie well enough by now.

Surprisingly they're talking about one more run, I can only assume they're funding it themselves as the Partnership's pot must surely be empty by now.

Southwell was being considered but he's been dropped a pound and gets into a 0-60 at Wolves tomorrow. He's shown enough in a couple of recent runs to win this, but he doesn't look like a horse who has the least bit of interest in winning a race to me, so he won't be carrying any of my money. I'm always partial to a nice surprise though, so we'll see.

Why on earth he ducked backed inside on that last bend I've no idea, had to snatch it up and they were gone. Do these lads never watch ATR, you can see them coming wide round that bend at Wolves and winning on a regular basis, why try to come up the inside and risk running into the back of one that's slowing down ?

I'm not saying it would have won kept to the outside, although it was finishing as well as anything, but it's chance went two furlongs out.

I agree with you BC it wasn't given a great ride by the jockey.

Once again a poor ride from the jockey, just as BC said why on earth he was diving for the inside on the last bend I will never know, plus I feel they leave Eddie with too much to do all the time, why don't they ride him a bit closer to the leaders for a change?
