Whats it all about asks Alfie(Sm14)
We all set out to try and win it; how we achieve that is down to individuals; whether it is by coming up with the odd big priced winner or by attempting to churn out a series of short priced winners; the choice is down to you. Having only ever won about 3 of these in all the time they have been running I admit I am not best qualified to answer how you go about winning it!(Sm14) Ask cables!

cheers CW..i just dont see the point in picking short priced horses when you need big ones to have a chance of winning.. i will just carry on picking big priced ones and finish bottom of the table as usual hahahaha ..smileys with beer

I can remember my Dad telling me four 4/6 winners in a yankee bet was always better than four 12/1 losers!(Sm14)

i agree but four 4/6 winners on a nap thread with a few days left and you are quite a long way behind is'nt the way to go.. the only point im trying to make is why enter a naps competition and not try to win it by picking short priced horses..seems silly to me when you are for example at least 30 points down with a few days left. i thought the all idea of entering a naps league was to win it..i guess i must be wrong though as people seem to be content in finishing mid table.. personally i would rather be rock bottom (which i am)but at least i know i have tried to win the competition...

the online sporting life paper ran a naps competition for quite a while and i finished near the bottom most times ,but on one occasion i won it by selecting a 100/1 winner, which earned me a free day out with all expenses paid and 50 quid betting money to Haydock Park so for me it does pay off to try and win a competition..
sorry if im coming across as a boring old fart, but i just cant understand the mentality of people entering a competition and not trying to win a competition..

Alfie I can't understand people wanting to throw money away every race on 100/1 shots; but hey ho its a free world and that is why people in The Paddock can select whatever priced horses they want and will be able to continue to do so without any criticism from me for as long as I have anything to do with it(a bit of banter apart)(Sm14)

Alfie there is 8 days left & you get 8 winners (Short priced) & the leaders lose thats £80 they are down for a start. Your sort pricd winners can make up the defecit on top of the £80 they have lost. You have 8 winners at 2-1 it means you gain £160 + £80 = £240 that is a big profit in the one a day comp

Trust me to pick 4 in a lucky 15 and the only one that doesn't win was the one I picked as my one a day....

We all set out to try to win this one a day, but we all have our own way of going about it, some take the cavalier approach, some take the more cautious route and pick the favourites, some stick a pin in, me, I study a bit of form and look for value,if you look back over the years we have been running it, I think MrsFC has even won it picking stupid names no right or wrong way but at the end of the day it is really just for fun.
