Ok,another music post. (Sm12)

But not just 'another music thread'.
one with echo's of when Burnley FC last played in a European competition.

I'll start with my favourite 60's band who were #1 at the time we played Stuttgart on the 20th & 27th september 1966.

Small Faces
[youtu.be]
Beach Boys-God Only Knows had peaked at #2 the same month.
[youtu.be]

On the 19th & 25th October we played Lausanne Sports.
An easy 8-1 agg score with Lochhead bagging a Hat-Trick in the 5-0 2nd leg home win.

At the top of the Hit Parade was Jim Reeves-Distant Drums
[youtu.be]
Supremes were sitting pretty at #8
[youtu.be]

Next up was Napoli on 18th January & 8th February.
A 3-0 win at the Turf & a well documented bruising, battling 0-0 in Naples saw us through to the Quarter Finals.
'Boyo Tom' with Green Green Grass Of Home was at #1 at the time of the 1st leg.

The week after these boys had took over top spot.
[youtu.be]

Sadly the run came to an end.
'The Mighty' Eintracht Frankfurt ragged a 3-2 aggregate win.

Top of the Hit Parade that April was a bloke who was born Arnold George Dorsey.I used to call him Humpty Dumpty.
[youtu.be]

Also a big hit at the time was a catchy little tune that was written by Jim Dale of carry on fame for the film of the same name
[youtu.be]

Just as a 'bonus' track
Jim Dale also wrote & Originally recorded a song made more famous by the 'fake' that is Des O' Connor.
