If it were, whoever wrote that piece in the Wall Street Journal should be locked up in it for deception.

More fake news.

They couldn’t even be bothered posting an updated picture of the city, the area at the end of the bridge on the left was demolished years ago. There’s going to be a lot of people visiting Dundee and going home disappointed, word of mouth and social media could put the boot into Dundee’s potential and future.

Luckily Dundee doesn’t have a 123m steeple and we do get snow, so Russian tourists might give this ‘UNESCO city of design’ a swerve, but there again so might most tourists.

It appears only the self congratulating suits involved in the new waterfront project believe The Wall Street Journal’s guff, that Dundee is one of the top ten coolest cities in the world to visit.

From what I have seen of the inside of the new V&A building in the media, well tbh, I didn’t see much insidesmiling smiley

I’m off out, you’ll be glad to know, light show and fireworks tonight in town, V&A Dundee opening tomorrow but it looks like some foodie has been given a free lunch already.

All the hype surrounding this museum sounds like The Emperor’s New Clothes imo, hope I’m wrong, will be giving it a visit next week, and my camera never lies smiling smiley
Cannae see me getting a job with the Dundee tourist board anytime soon.

Problem being that like the overseas aid budget we have budgets for other things that are of a fixed amount that require spending in a fixed time period.........congratulations Dundee you have a V and A museum as the majority of the good citizens of Dundee saw as their number 1 priority. Sort of like EU spending in your town wherever it is that other posters live.Austerity is not what it used to be..........whoops I was so busy talking I fell over another homeless person. What a sensible world we live in.

Not sure of a fixed amount, £49 million became £80.1 million and they are to get a million a year for the next ten years from the taxpayer.
I suppose the V and A will be Dundee’s Mona Lisa, people will come out of curiosity and then think, ffs is it really worth that much. Deborah Meaden touched on the art world the other week on Dragons Den, on how a small bunch of arty farties control the art business, a few critics price artworks, their word is gospel, the suckers believe and are fleeced of their money at a brushstroke.
If no one had heard of the Mona Lisa and it was going for a fiver at a car boot sale, I think the vendor would be taking it home with him.

The fake news continues....[www.scotsman.com]

Absolutely amazes me that what I thought were respected publications can post such guff. Even more worrying, big businesses ( mainly hotel groups) buy into it, just goes to show the power of the media. Trip advisor has rated the much hyped V & A Dundee as 41 best attraction in Dundee, I didn’t know Dundee had that much to offer, I’ve read most of the Trip Advisor reports, obviously people have different expectations but reading some of the posts, I think some of the people ‘advising’ haven’t been anywhere near the museum (that’s across the spectrum of ratings), how anyone can give it five stars is baffling to me.
Meanwhile this must see city has been in the local news about the many city centre businesses which are struggling, don’t know how building more hotels and commercial units are going to help these already struggling businesses, if anything they will probably take more trade away from them, hope I’m wrong, but I doubt it.

Oh, this Saturday Dundee and 3 other Scottish cities are having a Sleep Out In The Park to raise money for the homeless, ffs, another charity event, there’s begging bowls out every day in town, this charity, that charity, it’s never ending and I doubt it will ever end unless there is major change to global politics.

Making light of a very serious matter......during the sleep out the homeless will at least have someone to cuddle up to in order to keep warm.......good feckin luck with that you poor souls. Some very genuine samaritan types in Blackpool I observed feeding and providing each night for those in need. Saints every one,

Some great people out there doing charity work, perhaps queenie should recognise them more ( not that I believe in gongs), but it would be better to see truly wonderful people being recognised rather than overpayed so called celebs. Still can’t believe the amount of homelessness I saw in Birmingham last year and the wonderful job some locals were doing to feed and clothe them.
Lord Sterling, chairman of the Motability charity, said in a statement that the scheme accepted the watchdog's recommendations but said there were "areas still open to further debate".

Meanwhile Mr (Mororbility)Bett is to leave his £1.7m salary by 2020 after he was called out over his £1.86m bonus, how the f**k this business isn’t state owned is unbelievable.
Lord Sterling (ffs another one of queenies gongmen), chairman of the Motability charity, said in a statement that the scheme accepted the watchdog's recommendations but said there were "areas still open to further debate".
There’s plenty of people making a pretty penny running charities, the V &A down south is run bumpy exLabour MP Tristram Hunt, gave up Parliament and doubled his salary in the process.

The feckin telly this week, pay for you funeral and don’t leave your family in debt, take out life insurance incase you pop your clogs early and leave your family short, then there is charity after charity RSPCA, SSPCA, sponsor a snow leopard or a donkey, childrens cancer
