we will stay up
we won't win again
we will get 5 draws from the remaining games
and that will be enough
thereby creating a record
no away wins in a season
no wins since end of January
but still stay up
the world of football will shake its head at this miracle.
If I am right I will say told yer
If I am wrong I will say well it was tongue in cheek
Bloody hell Dave, what has your doctor put you on ? I'm as glass half empty as they come, but even I think we'll manage at least one more win before the season ends.
Look at it this way, for all the faults we're still an incredibly competitive team, of our last 19 games we've won 7, drawn 4, lost 8, and ALL those 8 defeats were by just a single goal. No one blows us away, we give everyone a game, even the top teams are now wary of coming to Turf Moor, somewhere along the way we'll win another. Not a doubt about it, you can trust me on this, mark my words.
Top teams when winning against us home or away celebrate as though they have won the cup.We are imo one scoring midfielder or striker away from having had a considerably higher points tally thus far. I have all the same reservations that have been expressed but also see how well we have done and feel the frustratiion of what we might have achieved which can be viewed as a positive expression of how far we have come. Hartleypool on a rainy Tues night anyone ?
Sometimes I wish we were back in the old D4, probably just old age and nostalgia but, results apart, it seemed more fun back then. That night at York was one of the best ever supporting Burnley, and I've seen it all since the 50s.
That night at York was something to remember, we had come back from the dead and that night was one fantastic celebration of our rebirth as a club. I know you can not but I would love to relive every minute of that evening. Goes to show there are actualy few stand out moments common to the many over quite long periods of time. DT would have to dissagree with that for obvious reasons.
