May and co are either halfwits, as you say BC, or exposing the true face of the EU for all the world to see.Either way any sensible organisation would prepare for WTO.

They've gone quiet for the time being Brian, she has managed to expose just how small minded and vindictive they are. It'a only a tiny, temporary victory for May though, and it won't make any difference in the end, they'll just have to find more subtle ways to disrupt and obstruct the process.

Like you say, we won't get an acceptable deal, how often does the EU mafia have to say it, we can't have the advantages of the single market after we've left it, and if we leave the EU we leave the single market. What's hard to understand about that ? Yet the cretinous Remoaners still can't get their thick heads round that simple fact. Some of the halfwits at the Labour Conference are now calling for another referendum, you wouldn't think there could be more useless politicians than May and Hammond, but Labour seems to be thronged with them.

WTO it will be Brian, I wonder just when the penny will drop, does May really believe all that guff about heading into the future hand in hand with our lovely friends in the EU ? Surely not.

She's off to Florence, our useless PM, apparently to tell the great and good of the EU what we want from Brexit, in reality to explain the concessions we're prepared to make to them in order for them, pretty please, to give us a trade deal.
I expect, and hope, the response from the EU negotiating team will be a simple 'Nope', unsmiling blank stares and continuing intransigence on their part.

Or maybe I'm wrong, maybe the EU will become amenable to negotiation, accept that it's in everyone's best interests to work with us on a trade deal, and how we get along after Brexit, they may welcome May's concessions and attempts to get the process moving and agree to work with us, instead of against us, and pigs may fly.

No, no flying pigs, she's made the concessions, it put them on the back foot for five days, but the stony faced intransigence has soon returned, President Tusk says insufficient progress made, the road-block remains in place.

Quelle surprise, I can read these EU monkeys like a book.

Scottish news today, leading economists predict a 20% fall in public spending in a decade. No wonder the youth of today lack hope.
Another report says, had Scotland won independence it could have ended up the next 'Greece' as the fallen price of oil would have blown a huge hole in the SNP's budget (another Venezuela).
Labour saying the UK needs plans in case of a rush on the pound.

Monsieur Barnier was very emollient today, very polite, very respectful, at least May has caused him to soften his sneering, condescension, but as I predicted the message remains the same, no trade talks for months yet. He left the 'if ever' unsaid. The stony-faced intransigence has been replaced by polite intransigence, nothing else has changed.

You could almost believe the cretins running our country don't actually want us to leave, but that couldn't possibly be the case could it ?

Amendments to the draft EU budget were circulated to MEPs last week. Amongst the spending projects they propose are,

Leadership in space....€173 million
Manual of good practices for cruises....€700,000
Ocean Literacy for All....€1.3 million
European Solidarity Corps....€4.5 million
Private storage of certain cheeses....€2 million
Storage measures for skimmed-milk powder....€10million

And no, I'm not making it up, it's genuine, this is what they want to waste spend our money on. I know we have a ficticious dry powder store, buried deep in the bowels of Pendle Hill, it's a source of much amusement, but these fruitcakes want to build a real one, and guess who's paying...... me and you, brilliant eh !!

And yet bizarrely some people still seem distraught that we're getting out of this lunatic asylum. God alone knows why.

I don't think many EU citizens are happy with Brussels, that's why we are seeing a rise of the right and neo-@#$%& in Europe. People want more power over themselves because of the failure of politicians, whether Catalonia, Scotland or Canvey Island.
Poverty and austerity spans all countries and the best way in tackling it is to tackle the cause, capitalism and that can only be done globally i.e. by people uniting and taking on the financial system which brings so much pain to so many around the world.

Oh dear.........and about that ficticious £350 squillion each week, well now I have come to my economic senses I realise that figure is a serious underestimate. How come no one seems to mention all the other revenue streams leaving these shores and accruing to the EU coffers ? From the EU website :The EU's sources of income include contributions from member countries, import duties on products from outside the EU and fines imposed when businesses fail to comply with EU rules.Fines is number 3 on the list and in the opening sentence.Draw your own conclusions on that one. They fail to mention the other lucrative stream of dosh which is a percentage of all our VAT receipts.it doesn't end there of course but even on that limited list £350m becomes a serious error in accounting..........I wonder to myself why leading leavers have not brought the real level of contributions we make to the EU to the attention of the electorate.Leave the EU and VAT can drop to 16% without loss of one penny to the treasury, leave the EU and all import duty money goes into our pot not theirs for us to spend or reduce prices, leave the EU and our yearly contributions to budget stop, leave Eu and fines become a 2 way @#$%& for tat street........and on and on and on. Oh, and for good measure the extra £14B Cameron promised them for those "concessions" he gained during his whirlwind tour of ????? where for his painful grovelling he received an unsigned copy of Nev chamberlains infamous piece of paper to wave at us....pillock.

More good news,'poverty reduction of a magnitude unparalleled in history', of course you won't find this leading the 6pm News on the BBC, or in the pages of the Grauniad, the Loony Left would prefer you not to know. But surely we can all welcome the news that the situation is improving rapidly for millions of the world's poorest people.

According to the latest data, the share of humanity living on less than $1.90 per person per day, adjusted for purchasing power, shrunk from 42.2 per cent in 1981 to 10.7 percent in 2013 (the last year for which data is available). That’s a reduction of 75 per cent over a comparatively short period of 32 years. According to researchers at the Brookings Institution, “Poverty reduction of this magnitude is unparalleled in history: never before have so many people been lifted out of poverty over such a brief period of time.”
This fall in extreme poverty is all the more remarkable considering that the world’s population rose by 59 per cent over the same time period. Far from being a problem, as was once believed, this growing population has gone hand in hand with increased prosperity. Specialisation and trade, or globalisation, ensured that an increase in the world’s population translated to an increase in the world’s productivity. As such, real average per capita income also rose by 59 per cent between 1981 and 2013.

The greatest reduction in extreme poverty happened in East Asia (from 81 per cent to 3.7 per cent) and South Asia (from 55 per cent to 15 per cent). The data for sub-Saharan Africa is incomplete. In 1990, it is estimated, 54 per cent of people lived there in absolute poverty. Poverty peaked at 59 per cent in 1993. Since then, it has fallen to 41 per cent. So, in terms of absolute poverty reduction, sub-Saharan Africa is a laggard. But, on other measures of human well-being, sub-Saharan Africa outperforms the world average.
