If you want trouble im sure you'll find it, whatever country you go to. If the media went to any country they can find trouble and highlight it like they did on that programme.
That said, Ukraine and Poland (and i imagine a lot of eastern europe) does seem to have a bigger problem with racism than most of the developed world.
I do find the Poles obsession with Hitler/@#$%&, hating Jews, rather queer.
There's going to be a massive police presence for this tournament though, so i cant see there being much hassle. Mind you the stewards looked like they were as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

Not sure it is scaremongering. These countries have football violence akin to what we had in the 70s and 80s, maybe worse.

From what bits I saw from the Panorama programme of the attacks on asians I think its a fair warning of what they might be subject to and it may be an intimidating experience for visiting fans, rather than the cultural football experience they might have hoped for; sad really.

Without wishing to fan any flames, as it is the "European" Championship it is ironic that two generations of 'multicultural' social engineering by some European governments means that fans of non-European ethnicity will want to be there and be subject to generations of bigotry from two East European host nations. It is unhelpful to suggest 'Asians' are threatened as most of Russia is in Asia and until they open their mouths they are indistinguishable from Ukrainians or Poles. It is unfortunately skin colour which will be targetted and I reckon Sol Campbell's advice is spot on. But knowing there was an issue why did EUFA choose Ukraine?

Soapy the Poles were as bad based on last nights program. As to why - money, brown envelopes, who knows - lest we forget they have also given Russia 2018!

Having lived in Russia I would suggest it is among the most racist of countries.

I still think its scaremongering. Might as well have sent Danny Dyer to do that report. You can find pwoper nawty boys anywhere.
But i do accept they do have a bigger problem with racism than a lot of other countries. These eastern european countries have always been like this though haven't they ? (for a good few years anyway). Its not as though nobody didnt know about it.

Kelly from Liverpool called up to replace Cahill, while Ferdinand still stays home.

Lots of Liverpool players in this squad isn't there, and Liverpool are shite.

Thought Kelly was a full back ?
Wasnt Jagielka the stand-by centre half - he'd have been a more apt replacement.

Jags was called up when Barry was injured wasn't he?

Never known so many injuries. Who is left from the standby list that hasn't been called up? Sturridge is one anybody else?

More and more like euro 92 with each passing day. I'm worried.

I couldn't care less that certain players chose not to be in the standby squad. Kelly ahead of Richards ( who for me should have been in the original squad) is crazy

Yep, it's now bordering on insanity, Richards can play centre-half and full-back so is the logical replacement. I have some sympathy for Hodgson, he's been thrown in at the deep end, but if he chooses to let players like Rio , Richards, Adam Johnson, Sturridge, Carrick and Crouch idle their time away on the beach, then he can't moan about a threadbare squad. There are some decent replacements out there, he's just choosing not to pick them.

I hope he knows what he's doing because, from just outside Clitheroe, it looks to me like he's just guessing and keeping his fingers crossed.

BC Richards plays for the champions and made 29 appearances, Johnson for 8th place Liverpool made 22, Kelly 10!

Adam Johnson looked our best prospect the times he got a game for England.

I've just re read your list, one excuse he doesn't have is threadbare squad.

Like all good fans I'm praying he proves me wrong but each decision brings Taylor to mind, now with the way he treated Lineker and Gazza etc, prefing (I think) Dennis wise and Carlton cole plus Smith up front.

Bloody hell Longsiders, I've just realised he's even got an ex-England right-back to sit alongside him as well, although I'd hope Neville isn't the sort to be saying 'Yes boss' all the time like Neal was.

They do say lightning never strikes twice though. That is true.....isn't it ?

Jesus tap dancing Christ, there must be someone better than Martin Kelly who England can call up for the Euros. Has the FA set a quota for the number of scouse players Roy Hodgson has to pick in every squad?
