7 days to go, the countdown to Mad Sunday
Posted by: ManHug (IP Logged)
Date: 21 March, 2010 17:28

Basically it's just gonna be 5Hours of mayhem, on and off the pitch. The noise, the tension, thr players battling, the goading and going off 00 and 05 no doubt pitch invasions and missile throwing.

Mad Sunday.

I'm buzzing now, can't wait to hear my alarm that morning! I hope to be in Burnley for about 9.50, anyone boozing before the game?

Basically five hours of complete mayhem, then we all go home, some happy and some gutted.

As always, it will be quadruple the away leg was.

Let's show the whole watching World what Burnley is about.

Tick tock tick tock

Bollocks.

No Burnley fans gives a stuff about it, because we're as good as down.

What does it matter playing them @#$%& when we've nothing to play for?

It's lose-lose for us.

If we win, it's not gonna keep us up, if they win they'll rub it in big time.

I wish it wasn't happening to be honest.

@#$%& game, and nothing to get excited about.

Get to Turf Moor for 11AM on Sunday and then tell me noone cares about it.

Tension and nerve will be in the air, the noise will be ear damaging.

It will a carnival of chaos.

Just hope we win. A Rovers broken leg, a red or two for both teams and fans on the pitch will be a bonus.

I said back in Oct I didn't really give a shite about what happens now, I just wanted March here ASAP.

It's flown by, I didn't think it would.

It's just three points was the phrase which the last manager we had in a derby used.

The useless, thick, feeeeenian dickhead.

Whereas his equal at Ewood bigged it up to his players all week leading up to.

Hence we were done in.

I see Brian has already said he can't wait for it, his words.

The lad lives for a derby.

I hope he is drilling them all week, screaming at them at 11.50.AM and telling them to smash into every single tackle in the first ten mins.

Rough them up, snap some bones... It's derby time.

BANG up for it.

It will be the happiest I've ever been in a stadium at full time, should we win. Simples.

Of course it will sell out.

The Club were silly enough to do the scheme where you had to attend other games to get first shot at these.

It's jut gone to general sale to members has it?

Anyone know when it's general sale to anyone? Got six lads I know pestering me for info of when thy can get them.

Second biggest game of the season.

He has already said he can't wait.

Football is all about days like this.

Results aside my favourite two games in a quarter of a century of going to Turf Moor was Rovers 00 and Rovers 05.

You arrive in Burnley and the place feels different.

The game we lost 2 0 in 00 blew me away, my first derby experience and I walked away at Full Time thinking it was amazing.

Not long now!!!

I don't think people will be as up for it as they might have been. Events of the past few months have left many fairly apathetic over the end of this season.

It's nothing to do with the drop.

Zoot, you're confusing me. Again, as last time, all the folk on here who know me personally with know that I mean this.

It's strange you seem to think people spend time fishing.

Fact, i'd take a win V Rovers, followed by two defeats than a loss to Rovers followed by two wins.

Search back to Oct, after the Ewood game U said then that the next five months are just nothing to me personally, merely an annoying build up.

I've waited a long time to see us beat them, and I'm not sure when the next time will be

We've all waited a long time and I think they'l hammer us next saturday.

I've no optimism, no enthusiasm after Kilby and co undid all their good work by employing this clown and watching us plummet back to the Championship.

I'd even got to the stage where i'd take losing to blackburn and staying up, now i just think we'l get humiliated against rovers and i wouldn't be surprised if we didn't pick up another point this season.

Coyle and Bolton shafted us when Coyle had been found out at burnley, and bolton took everybody to really damage us, but the board decided to take the money and run by employing an out of his depth manager and ensuring we drop back to the Championship. Maybe this time next season people will be saying they can't wait to get back to the real football in League 1 if Laws is still in charge.

I don't think everyone fishes MH, just you and occasionally Fred about "Lawsy". I could be totally wrong, I don't know you like I don't know anyone on this messageboard irl. You could totally be on the level with what you write, or laughing your cock off everytime i rise to the bait.

It wouldn't surprise me if we finish bottom and Pompey finish above us. We're that bad.

Can you imagine if we were relegated to League 1?

The board would have to employ a sacked manager from a Sunday pub team.

I'm not going. The only ticket I can get is right facing the away stand and I'm not spending 90 minutes watching and listening to 3,000 b*stard fans taking the p*ss. If we could put out a team with a chance of winning I'd be there, but feck it, I'm not watching us lose to Blackburn, no way.

I also know two ST holders who won't be going for exactly the same reason.

BC, we were a gorrilas hair away from beating Wigan away on Sat. A much tougher fixture than Rovers at home. Form and ability is right out if the window in derbies, it's about desire. I just hope Brian put some of the fire from his belly into the players bellies. Don't forget they have won one away game, a fluke at Bolton. Out if interest, and no I've not checked, how do the bookies see it???

As for not going. Well, I'm glad I'm not that weak a person. I'll stand with them forever. If I knew in advance we were gonna get smashed for 6, I'd still travel and pay to be there. We could lose every game from now on but I'll he there at Birmingham, showing them that I'm with them.

I can't believe anyone would throw a chance away of being there for what would be our greatest win for thirty years or so.

I can't wait.

Manhug, you're starting to sound like one of those loons from the other site. You know the type. Those insecure supporters who have to state their fanaticism by proclaiming that they've been a season ticket holder for a thousand years on every post they make.

What site?

Do you go to games? I'm glad the stands ain't filled with spectators like you.

We've a lot if spectators that don't deserve a PL Club, I'd imagine Mr Chairman thinks the same but obviously can't say that, like I can.

The problem with a lot of BFC spectators is they are thick, you can't expect simple people to change.

Doesn't bother me, it's more enjoyable, with better games and bettet grounds in TC.

Just give us that win on Sunday, immortalise yourselves lads!

Lot's of people are thick, though I wouldn't say the main criteria for stupidity was not being able to see that Laws is a tactical genius, like you persist on proclaiming he is.

Fred, ETA?

Currently on Betfair, it's 7/4 Burnley, 7/4 Blackburn, 5/2 Draw.

I'm a good bit older than you MH, I saw us go from League Champions to the bottom of D4 and it wasn't pleasant or easy watching. I've done my time with the misery and disappointments, it used to spoil my weekends and I've no intention of letting Blackburn and their fans spoil another one.

With the money I can save I can take Mrs BC out for a very pleasant, and effectively free, Sunday lunch, then come back and watch the game on the SkyPlus Box. If we win it'll make my day, if it's a disaster I'll switch it off and forget about it and I won't have to watch that lot jigging up and down and laughing at us. I go back to the late 50's with that shower and I'm quite simply not giving them the opportunity to have some fun at my expense. We spent the 1960's giving them football lessons and those are the memories I want to retain.

I doubt very much you'll even begin to understand the way I look at it, but we were brought up watching Burnley in different eras and, for me, that's the way it is.

Putting it as basically as I can, beating Blackburn is no big deal for me, been there done it, many times. Losing to them is.

Anyone any idea why towards the end of the clip it looks like it's going off in the Bob Lord, and loads of ours rush over there?

Were there Bolton fans in the Cricket as well that day as the Burnley fans charge over to that too at one point.
