We are planning our 1st trip abroad next year since Rhianna was born.

If you plan Carefully, We have worked out it will cost around £250 - £300 each (That includes spending money & only haviong breakfast in the accomodation. I would reccomend it unless you like sunbathing on Hot sunny days by a pool or a beach & drinking loads of cheap beer (Sm151)

Spain for me in May, the Friday after the Season ends.

Hopefully 4 trips in 2010.

Feb. Wroclaw/Poland for 2 nights
May. Torremolinos/Spain for 3 nights
Sep/Oct. Switzerland/Bulgaria/Montenegro V England hopefully
Oct/Nov. Klitschko V Haye in Vegas/NY/Germany hopefully

Aa long as the Euro draw is good a Haye beats Ruiz it should be a top year!!!

Another note, it's back to 2004 since I've been on what you would call a 'holiday', as in a full week! Probably back to that in 2011 I think. smiling smiley

What do you mean? Part of the holiday isn't it?

Get an airport lounge, only £15 or so, worth it if airports bug you.

TC - where in Cyprus are you going?

Yet but you're cut off from the rest of the rabble until it's practically time to depart.

I've only done it once, but I don't mind airports so much, except coming back of course. Love it on the way out, getting an ale whatever time of day/night/early morning it is.

Latchi, Nr Polis. [www.soulibeachhotel.com]

We had a drive round the area last time & thought it looked decent.
Not TOO much going on, so we can chill.

Will probably hire a 4X4 again, for a few days. (easier driving over there than at home!)

BA lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5 is great. Plenty of food and drink and even a mini-cinema which, last time I was there, had the football on.

BMI lounge is also good at Heathrow.

Not sure yet, fancy Cape town - might wait for prices to drop, or a USA road trip, or an active safari in Tanzania / Uganda.

Tenerife for two weeks with the kids.

They really enjoyed Mallorca last year.

Only thing I'm dreading is the flight. A two year old and a one year old don't fly that well!

Tenerife is like a second home to our family, been travelling there for over 20 years, you will love it dependant on where you are staying.

S/C or Hotel?

Flight time not to bad, generally 4 hours tops, coming back 30 mins shorter

no-one going under canvas, i'm not fit enough to go backpacking/wildcamping anymore. so i go on camping sites so i still get the good old feeling of tenting living as a Nomad
eatin and having the odd can of beer/whisky around the tent or eating out in pubs cafes/restaurants. my tent is very small and light like a sleepingbag with a roof on it. ggggrreeaatt(Sm60)grinning smiley(Sm126)(Sm63)

I had a week in Protoras but it was 8 or 9 years ago. It was quieter than the other resorts but you could see it was starting to grow then.
Nice beaches and you could stroll into Ayi Napa if you wanted bit more of night life

Protarus is lovely, we've been a few times now. It's quieter than Aiga Napa but still lively enough and there are som decent restaurants and pubs.
Try "Mojito" in Penera (opposite the Only Fools and Horses Bar), they do really nice food, Also, "Limelight" restaurant in Aiga Napa is fantastic, but don't get a starter! All the food is cooked fresh in front of you and the portion sizes are huge! When we went my mate ordered a seafood platter and it came on 4 plates!
There is a small water-park in one of the hotels but it's pretty cr*p so if you want to go to the water park then the best one is the big one near Aiga Napa.
Have fun smiling smiley

Stayed just outside Arendal, to the south side of Palma. Full of Germans, and very little bits of brits on the lash.

Cheers for the info, Golly, plenty of things for kids to do there?

Thought we'd have a change, so we're having a month in France from the end of April then, in case we've missed anything, another month in France August/September. We'll probably spend some time in Spain (San Sebastian) on the 2nd trip.

I assume your kids are still fairly young, but the waterpark is a corker but it is for older kids.

Crazy golf, trampolines kid friendly pubs. PM me where your staying and i will see if i can recommend anything near to you

What's your hotel Shappie?

Look out for Rive's Bar and the Loveboat, they were our two favourite bars.

It's based on one main road, one 'loud' end and one quiet end.

We were on the quiet end where these two bars were.
