Incase or encase. Which is correct or are they both?
Posted by: OptionalCapers (IP Logged)
Date: 31 August, 2009 20:53

I'm writing an application and want to know whether it's incase or encase.

For example: leave the door unlocked incase/encase I forget my keys.

In case (2 seperate words)
Encase, is to cover something completely, as in I encased EET in a concrete coffin. (Sm85)

Thank you.

I'd put incase not realising it was 2 separate words and Microsoft Word keep insisting it was encase.

Encase isn't one of those words with 2 meanings?

That's not what I'm putting on the application that was just an example of how to use the word I wanted.

WHY do folk sometimes end a comment/remark with the word period ?

I know what's meant by it,but i think it sounds so snotty when worded/spoken at the end of a comment/remark.
